Hi everyone...my name is Valerie and this is my 3rd time around at attempting to lose weight. Two years ago I lost a total of 58 pounds and I was on top of the world. I really thought that I was on the road of defeating this weight struggle this once and for all. I never thought that I would see myself here again but two years later I am up to 294, not my highest weight but 10 pounds away from it and that is scary. I refuse to let the scale top off at 300 plus pounds so that is why I decided to take it back to the basics and hit the re-set button to my life.
I have set mini goals for myself in six month increments, so the first six months I have set a goal to lose 50 pounds and I will record it each month. Starting today I am 294 but after next month I will never see this number again. I will defeat this once and for all.

My goals for the year are to loose 60 pounds by 06/03/2013, fit into a size 16 comfortably, run a 5k, and learn how to eat healthy and make healthy food choices!!
Drinking 9 glass of water a day,eat at lease 5 servings of fruits and veggies a day, no breads, no sodas, cardio 3- 5 times a week, reward myself and prayer!!

Hi there! Welcome aboard the BGR team!! I love this team. It is actually the only one I have chosen to participate in. The ladies are great and our team leader is such a sweety. I am fairly new to running, I started a year ago using the c25k app... It worked for me!! And I was 220 pounds when I started running. Now i run about 4 times a week from 5-9 miles each run!!So be encouraged, you really can lose the weight, gain the fitness and accomplish your goals, it just takes time, commitment and daily choices.
