Debby's still fighting to keep it in gear...

Hi, I just turned 60 and have joined this site to help motivate myself to keep losing weight. I've lost 110 pounds over this past year & a half and still need to get rid of another 17... I was the executive pastry chef for a famous RI restaurant, but my problems are not with sweets...I crave what I call "food, food"...mac and cheese, potatoes, etc., I am a total carb addict...

I have a small farm with a couple of horses and goats, which keeps me pretty active.

SP has motivated me to eliminate my aversion to doing a daily exercise routine...something I sorely needed (no pun intended there)....always thought that being on my feet for 8-10 hours a day qualified as enough exercise for anyone...NOT!

I am still envious of people who look forward to the "high" they get from exercising...it is a necessary evil that I must do each day...but I am working toward adjusting my attitude on this. Between the weight loss and the new found improvements in my balance and movement, I would be stupid to not appreciate what my devotion to doing my cardio daily has achieved....

My Goals:
Try to convince myself that I LOVE to do my daily exercise routine.

Get down to my wedding day weight (the lightest I ever was in my adult life) for the first time since 1973.

My Program:
Chose the vegetarian meal plan to increase my veggie intake and decrease my bad habits from my low carb days...still eat a little meat, just a LOT less.

Challenge myself to find cardio exercise which won't kill my two bad knees.

That sounds yummy and I love turnip. Never thought of tossing in cherry tomatoes.

Didn't get a very good night sleep and it feels like an elephant is sitting on my head. Might snuggle with the kitties this afternoon.

Your cat "the bear" looks so much like a cat I had (Tabetha)...she lived to be 20 years old...I still miss her...I'm going to try the applebutter you talked about in your blog...thanks for posting!
