Hello,

At sweet 16 I was physically fit and so active I was burning off a million calories a second!!! (No really I was!!!) I had no bills to pay and I was studying Health and fitness! (Would you believe?)

My 16 year old self would say "That is not me!!!" Followed by "What happened?" and last of all I would say to myself "Come on let go and sort you out!!!"

And that is exactly what I am doing after all these years!!!
(10 now!!! And enough is enough!!!)

Then life happened and I ended up falling pregnant! (At the age of 19!) I have a boy (Who is now 10) and a girl (Who is 8)! They are wonderful and a handful all at the same time as that is how I used to be!!! I never sat down and nor do they!!!

I gave up college and hit depression as I thought once one becomes a mum that was it! I gave up on myself! (Little did I know!!!)

Since then my weight has fluctuated up and down, and my depression has gone else where to!!! (It depressed itself and left me alone!!!)

Although I would love to look and feel as good as I did at 16 I am glad I have gone through what I did as 'what does not kill you makes you stronger!!!'

(Although given the choice to do it again I would rather not!)

So I would to say with hind sight (as that is such a wonderful thing to have!) I would like to now just get on with being me and leave my 16 year old self behind and say I am trying hard to lose the weight and be active! It is much harder now one is an adult with lots of commitments!!!

Its all about enjoying life and showing your self you are great at any age!!!

Good bye Sweet 16! Hello to 29!!! The year I will lose all the weight I need to!

I have found all my friends including Spark friends an inspiration to carry on with my fitness journey and I hope to continue to lose weight and perhaps inspire someone else!!!

After all we are in this together and together we can do this!!!

I cant wait for Nike's Run to the Beat!!! 1/2 marathon!!! Training hard for it now!!! (28/10/2012)

My Goals:
To be fit and healthy not just thin! Like Coach Nicole said its better to be strong than skinny!
Also I want to run all the way round Run to the Beat which is a half marathon. 28/10/12 London.


My Program:
Running combined with strength training and eating smaller portions!
I try to follow the motto 'I eat to live and not live to eat!'

    Thanks for the Reculver suggestion. We know it's 9 miles each way and maybe it would work for a Spark walk but so far out of London for many people. Are you from Kent? Most of the South East people do seem to be in London, just a few here in the "far East"!!
    Sorry to read you are not sleeping well, it is something so many of us have been through. I was about your age when it first happened to me. De-caf tea and coffee after 6pm is a rule in our house. Other things like Nytol help for travelling but I don't need to use it all the time.

    Thanks for stopping by my page to say hello. The support is what keeps me going when I have not so good days, like today.

    I never thought I would pick running back up. I am having a blast getting in shape and seeing myself progress from last year. And I can honestly say that I have learned so much from reading the articles here and other sparker's blogs.

    Wow, and ultra marathon. That seems like it is out of my league, but something to work towards. Once I run my race on March 4th, I am going to set another goal to reach. This is how I am making it happen.
