Looking back on these goals is always eye opening. I began my journey at 278, I am now 160. I am a size medium, 10-12. I can vividly remember only being able to pull size 16's up to my knees. Here I am concerned with being 160. Look below: My goal this year was to get to 160! How did I forget?? It isn't enough now, because I can see potential. I have muscle definition. I have awesome shoulders and quads. If I lost the last 20, I would be a "healthy" weight on ALL the charts. I didn't do the marathon this spring. My work schedule was WAY too busy. I DID however run in a Turkey Trot this Thanksgiving. Another first for me. I DID work with a personal trainer for 6 weeks. Another first! I am once again the girl who graduated High School with potential to do anything she set her mind to. I am a good Mama. My kids are proud of me. My husband is proud of me. I am a home school mom. I am a professional caterer. I am a 4-H leader. I am a master gardener. I am a runner. I am a weight lifter. I am a kick boxer. I am bicycle rider. I am amazed. 2009 WAS Fine!
Its time to update. I met all my goals listed below. I am so glad I spent some time here today. Its been good to see just how far I have come. Its so easy to get discouraged when the scale doesn't move, for weeks, or it goes the WRONG way! This has been a good review for me. I want to get to 160 now. That would be an ideal weight for me. I want to get there and be comfortable with it. I am riding horses again---regularly. I have become a horse 4-h leader! I am going to walk in the half marathon again this spring, I am excited to see how it will be to walk it 60 pounds lighter than the first time I did it. I am hoping to buddy with an internet friend who lives in Boise. I liked Wynntopia's idea of a personal motto, here's mine: Feeling FINE in 2009!! Go ME!

I'm hoping this is the year to get back to normal..to ride horses again, to play sports etc. A year ago I started on this journey. At my heaviest I weighed 279. Right now I am 239..it worked. Although, to lose that I was training for a half marathon. I find that if I have an "umbrella" goal, where weight loss is an added benefit to reaching that goal, I do much better. So this year, I want to ride my horse with my daughter without worrying that the horse is being "sour" because of my weight! LOL! I was burnt out after my half marathon, so the walking eventually went out the door along with any kind of "diet", especially once the holidays came around and the weather turned yucky, but I am pleased that I only gained 9 pounds since October....not bad for just "letting go." I know I can do it, and I'm ready to walk again...maybe not on a training schedule again though, LOL!
I met these goals! yahoo! I am under 200 pounds, which when I set that goal I thought it was a HUGE goal! I am lighter than my husband by 20 pounds now, I am OFF blood pressure meds! yay!!! I went to a girls' night out with my gym bum friends, and I was NOT the biggest gal at the table!!! Okay, so goals for this year, 2009: to walk the half marathon in spring at my goal weight of 160. To be 160 and be comfortable and satisfied and content with it. To look at myself in the mirror and find the things I like, not the flaws, and know in my heart the my Creator did not make any mistakes. To give thanks to God for His son, my savior, and His love and strength. through him I can do all things. All good things, including successfully battling weight issues and getting strong come from Him. 1-03-09
another goal, 3-29-09:
flatten this tummy, reach 145 by the end of fall. I CAN do this! I WILL be strong and healthy and fit!
New goals for the new gym membership! Cardio 5 days a week...elliptical, treadmill, bike, kickboxing, strength training 2 days a week in a class called Iron works, and a day with a personal trainer one day a week. Keep calories under 1700.
I am a homeschool mom of 3, 12.5 yr, 11 yr, and 7 yr. Married to my best friend for nearing 17 years, we are caretakers on a 300 acre ranch for the past 12 years, we live in north Idaho
I am a caterer and run a museum cafe in the summer months. I cook for lot's of events and seminars, so its a challenge to stay on track. The first bight is the best tasting bite, the rest taste all the same! I am WORTH it! Feeling FINE in 2009!
