Hello everyone! I'm here now, attempting once more to loose the extra weight I have put on over the course of 10 years. I'm determined to win the battle this time, for good and for ever!
I plan on regaining my shape from the time I met my husband. It should not be imposible, but I know it's going to take commitment and lots of hard work. I'm very proud of my success so far. I started in 2007 at 265 lbs. and I am now down to 204. In all honesty, the great majority of the weight loss has been accomplished since March 2009 when I was weighing in at 256.
I am watching what I eat carefully, not being restrictive like I was when I was doing Atkins, but being careful about how much fat and calories I consume each day. On the exercise front, I have made my self a promise to exercise at least 5 days a week for 1 hour minimum until December 31, 2009. I figured by the time I get to the end of the year exercise will be a need for me and I was right! It already is. Sundays, my day "off" for exercise, I feel antsy and want to move! Doing great so far. I found some awesome classes at my Gold's Gym. Body Combat! I love the energy and the music. I'm also doing Zumba on Wednesdays and every other Saturday, Body Jam on Thursdays, and throwing in Body Pump (weights) twice a week.
I live in Salt Lake City, Utah. Originally from Mexico (Guadalajara) with a long stop in Los Angeles. I have 2 teenage boys, Jesse (19) and Mikey (18). Which means I don't have to worry about finding a sitter to go exercise. :)
I love going to the movies, watching Telenovelas (soaps in Spanish), and reading. My favorite writers are Dean Koontz (Reading Dead and Alive right now), and Patricia Cornwell (Last book I read by her was Book of the Dead). I enjoy listening to a very eclectic mix of music.
