Good Morning Amy! My name is Michelle and I joined Spark People because I'd love to fit in some jeans from college, and because I had a friend who did a 5K training plan and in 18 months she lost 60 pounds. She's my inspiration and Spark People is my motivation! I totally understand the need to just start DOING IT, instead of thinking about it!
I'm not sure if my advice will be any good but here's what I do. I always have a water bottle near me, and if I start to feel hungry I drink water. It fills me up and helps put more time between snacking.
Another thing I've done is after grocery shopping I immediately cut up the fruits and veggies and put them in food storage containers. I found that when I was hungry for a snack I'd want something fast, I didn't want to have to sit down and cut up a pineapple, cucumber or strawberries. When water just isn't enough and I need a snack I can go in the fridge and grab something healthy instead of chips or cookies. With my food already prepared I can just grab a handful of healthy and snack without feeling guilty!
