I'm at 30yr old mom of two boys who has lived a very sedetary life since high school. I have been considered overweight my whole life (now that I know what BMI is, I was even over in school). Once I got pregnant with my first child, I gained a lot of weight and never lost it. With my second child, I was determined to not gain more, but still did with severe edema (luckily that goes away after delivery) and I returned to my previous weight - still considered obese.
This year has been hell, to say the least. I had a devastating miscarriage at one day shy of 12w on leap day (feb29). Then May 6th my dad was Ina serious accident while on vacation and is now a quadriplegic. I went off work for 3mths (stress leave) to see over 40 people laid off. Had another miscarriage over labour day weekend. Returned to work to find out my job was given to someone else and I am now doing a very basic-mindless job. However, in the meantime, I have taken steps to help heal me! I did see a therapist to help me thru and guide me to learn that it's ok to feel whatever I'm feeling at that moment.
After returning from Miami (where my dad was taken) I had my first 5k that I signed up for that weekend! I wasn't ready at all, but I still did it. I went on to complete 2 more 5k's and signed up for a 25k trail run for September. I have lost about 30lbs from April to current, but have been stuck in a plateau since July. (With the exception of a 5lbs loss after the last miscarriage). I did complete the 25k, tho it was the hardest thin I've done in my life! I want to redeem myself and prove to myself I can do it-so I signed up for a half (21.1k) for Nov! I'm still about 70lbs overweight! But I want to show people it's not just your size that makes you healthy! It's your will, drive an determination that gets you thru!!!!
I KNOW I can do this! I KNOW I want this! I KNOW I deserve this!! This is it! I've finally made that choice and am putting it into action!! I'm doing this because I'm blessed to still be able to!!

My Goals:
My biggest goal is to feel happy about my physical life. Whether I'm 120lbs or 160lbs.... Provided I'm happy with how I look and feel, I believe that is my goal - to a T!
Ideally, I want to be in the "healthy" BMI range (although I have NEVER been there) Who's to say I can't now!

My Program:
Running at least 3x week. Started with the app "C25K" and loved it!! HIGHLY recommend it!
Hitting the gym over my lunches to get in some weights to get my metabolism going again! Or as I like to call it: free burn!

My name is Kate and I live in a small town, within Southwestern Ontario. I love where we live! There are runners and cyclists everywhere! So, I'm slowly starting to fit in again! :)

Other Information:
I'm totally a movie person! I fall asleep reading anything!! Put on a movie and I'm intrigued!!
