Learning to fly again
I am a 51 year old female, 5'0" ( I used to be 5'1"......I really, really miss that half inch) who just discovered this website from an email from an older sister who is a success story.
I don't have kids, except for the 4 footed variety which consist of 3 dogs and 3 cats; 4 of them seniors. I have been married to a wonderful SO for nearly nine years.

I love Spark People, altho it is a bit overwhelming because of its size. I just joined a gym in March, and had a personal trainer for 1 hour every 2 weeks for two months, and am already addicted to spining and my yoga classes, but have only recently discovered the joy of strength training.
I started taking the iron pump class and love it! Definately challenging!!!
I am a recovering anorexic and a cancer survivor. The gym and dedication to a healthy life style have been God sends for both conditions.
As a control freak, when the economy plunged I was literally worrying myself sick about the what if's (what if I lose my job, what if all my savings never come back when I am to old to wokr?)
Now, I try to live in the moment and enjoy the beauty and gifts I have been blessed with.

Personal Information:
I live on the eastern shore of Maryland, but was born and bred inthe suburbs of Cleveland.
I LIVE here, but my heart will always be where I was born. I still root for the Browns and Indians and Cavs and plan to move back if and when I can retire. I grew up in a large Italian family; I have 30 first cousins and love when DH and I can attend one of their reunions. My sister and two brothers are my best friends.
I am also a born animal lover and currently have 3 dogs and 3 cats. I foster, but unfortunately get too attached to let them go and end up adopting them.
Again, if and when I can retire, I plan to get more involved with the rescue groups.
Other Information:
Although I am limber, I have always been a klutz and have recently discovered a love of ballet.
