I love the outdoors; I aim to be healthy and strong enough to venture deep into remote areas by canoe and by foot again. Ever seen a moose after canoeing all day, (yum chocolate mousse...anyone?)...I look forward to our cyber-adventure together!...sharing photos, support, stories, sorrows and celebrations along the way of meeting our independent goals. What have I got to lose? 38#, one gram at a time. How about you?

My starting place is not a pretty one, but I am not in a psych ward (again)- which even less pretty and certainly does NOT require any accountability. I have virtually no self care habits and very few friends. So this is a personal journey of self care, including weight loss.

If I am not accountable to myself and to you for my thoughts and actions; why not? Because I think I don't matter? I decided I don't exist? Other people aren't held accountable for hurting me? I'm drugged mad/lonely/unemployed and brain damaged? These reasons are excuses. No one said life would be fair. Or easy.

The fact is, I am still alive, so I guess I have other gifts to give and receive from the world.

I must be accountable to myself for myself in many new ways; and accept that it can NOT be done all at once. Baby steps. Many baby steps. I can and must take good care of myself. No excuses. I count. 24-7.

And please, pencil in a celebration on your calendar: September 30 for LessIsAmore. Goal: 142# this September 30th! What celebration date shall I pencil in for you?

See you along the river!

My Goals:
To be fully accountable to myself and all living beings for all aspects of my self care. To backpack with my nephew. To smile when I see myself in the mirror.

My Program:
1) Decided to get and stay healthy and not go into the pysch ward.

2) Made the decision to be fully accountable to myself and everyone around me for all my thoughts and actions.

2) Stop. Regroup. Go back to the basics of self care.

4) Get and give support.

5) Go back to step 3.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine... And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

Speech by Nelson Mandela, written by Marianne Williamson.
