Healthy choices today for a better tomorrow.

I have been on and off again on sparkpeople since 2008. Some years have been better than others but the one thing I have found consistent is that I have always put others ahead of myself including my three children. At a party I had for my twin girls over a week ago a fellow mom put her hand on my stomach with the thought that I was expecting. I laughed and told her no that it was just stress. Instead of feeling sorry for myself I used that moment to motivate to move in a more positive direction. In one week's time, I have started a walking program with my mom and I have stopped ordering food while at work and bringing in my lunch with healthier choices. My next step will be to wean out the carbs but that will take me a while longer as this Italian girl loves her pasta...and bread...and cheese, lol.

My Goals:
1. to lose weight
2. to have more energy
3. to fit into my size 10 clothes since right now I am pushing a size 16

My Program:
Started going to the gym with my best friend. We help motivate each other. Started logging my food intake daily to see where improvement is needed. Increased water intake as well. Will start seeing my nutritionist again to help me guide through my process of my healthier lifestyle change.

Personal Information:
I am from Philadelphia, PA and am a mom of three. Eleven year old twin girls and a nine and a half year old boy. I work full time and sitting in front of a computer eight hours a day five days a week has been one of the major factors in my struggle to lose weight.

SUPERACHEIVER, this was in no way directed towards you or anyone from sparkpeople. I meant from family members, lol. You know, those who think they are encouraging you but do it in negative ways without realizing it. Like my husband....wonderful husband and father but thinks that saying, "If you get down to 150, I'll quit smoking" is going to encourage me, lol. Then I get, "is that ok for you to eat? how many points is that?" OMG, can get a little crazy....that's what I love about sp and the weekly challenge group in particular. No judging, just positive reinforcement and encouragement all the way. YOU HAVE BEEN AWESOME in your advice and praise. Don't think other wise. Have an awesome night!
