Toward a healthy weight

I'm in my fifties and looking to lose some excess weight and improve my health. On 8/1/09, I weighed 236 (my highest weight was 237). I would like to attain and maintain a healthy weight.

Updates: (to come)

My short-range goal: I'd like to weigh less than 200 on my birthday in April of 2012. If I lose on average a little more than one pound per week between now (Oct. 2011) and then, it can happen!

My long-range goal is to reach 140 because that would ...

My Goals:
My short-range goal: To weigh less than 200 lbs. by my birthday in April, 2012.

My long-range goal: I'd like to reach 140 because it's a normal BMI, not overweight and not obese.

My Program:
I'm going to:

--Remember to take my meds daily!

--Drink three bottles of water each day to equal 6 cups.

--Drink 1-2 cups of skim milk per day.

--Exercise gently for current limitations.

--Use portion control.

--Not eat after 8 p.m.

--Tell myself "No!" when I should, even if it's minute by minute!

--Eat more fruits and vegetables.

Personal Information:
I'm a Christian woman in my fifties, married, with children and grandchildren. We also have two cats. :)
