Trying for the Umpteenth time to Lose Weight

I have been on a gazillion diets and lost millions of pounds. I can't keep if off. I'm an emotional eater and being an emotional person, it's just not a good combination. My knees hurt when I walk, I can't lift up heavy items. Just two years ago I worked out 5-6 days a week, and looked pretty damn good. I'm going to be 50 this year. I want to be FIT and fiftly, not FAT and 50.

I am going to a funeral today for a good friend's father. My goal today is to not eat mindlessly, stay away from high fat & high sugar food and to get more sleep tonight. I only slept a few hours and I know that fatigue leads me to binging.. I know I need to do aerobic exercise, but today I will just try to do 30 minutes of yoga. I want to start slow and build up. emoticon

I think it's too late to worry about injuring my knee, it already hurts 24/7. I know that losing weight will make it feel better and I can only do that by exercising. It does feel better when it's warmed up when I'm working out. I just have to realize I can't jump back into the 60 min on the elliptical like I used to do. That will take time. I'm not discouraged today - I just need to find a different way for the moment. emoticon

maybe you need to work out at a lower intesity every day to build consistancy til your knee gets used to the new workout. If you injure the knee that wouldn't be good, believe me, I know.
