Registered in sparks ten months ago and after a week did nothing, back to old habits. In April 2008, I quit smoking and I believe I increased eating even more junk food.

August 2008 I committed to start walking. Started out at 1 to 2 miles per day and within a month I was up to 6 to 10 miles per day, reaching as high as 14 miles one Sunday. Two month ago if someone had asked me if I could walk 10 to 12 miles I would have told them they were crazy.

Next to no weight loss with all this walking, maybe 4 pounds in two months. Saw an article in womens world about weight loss and how people that journal their food lose nine times more weight. Started this week to log everything I eat and all my exercise. Reduced my walking to 5 to 8 miles per day and started doing some resistance training and crunches.

Sunday evenings is when I weigh myself each week. I expect to have my best weight loss since I started exercising and believe with all my heart that I am now a the beginning of my new life.

Have you ever heard of Volksmarching? There is a club that hosts two Volksmarches (walks) in Jim Thorpe which I think is close to you. Both events start at the Chamber of Commerce which is a beautiful Victorian Train Station in downtown Jim Thorpe. http://www.ava.org/gen3/data/event_details
