Just me.

Hi! My name is Becky and I am a Christian stay at home mom. I've been married for 25 years! Have two kids that still live at home.

Hi! My name is Becky and I am a Christian stay at home mom. I've been married for 25 years! Have two kids that still live at home.
I've always been able to some what maintain my weight, until. Yep. Until I went to back to work in 2004, and started eating fast food for lunch and drinking sodas all day and candy bars on break. Over the course of 3 years, I gained 10 pounds. No biggie.
Then in January of 2007 I got mononucleosis for the first time. (at 40 years old!) Had to quit my job, it took my 6 months just to be able to make a quick run to the grocery store without having to take a nap afterwards. So I gain 20 more pounds.
Found Sparks, then left, rejoined in Jan. 2012. Lost 30 pounds.
Had a fatigue episode and just stopped sparking.
Been trying to get back, but have been lazy.
Doctors found a bubble in my brain (a.k.a. aneurysm or infundibulum) in December 2013. Nice scare.
Gained back all of the weight that I lost.
Now weigh 177 at 5 foot 3 inches.
So 2 weeks ago I decided to start over.
I am going to get back to a healthy weight!
I am going to eat better!
I am going to exercise/move more!
I am going to do this!

Hi Becky and I have to tell you that back in 2012, at the holiday time to be exact, I was 10# away from my one major goal, that actually my dr. had set for me, and I plateaued and plateaued to the point of getting so frustrated, that here I am in 2015, with a 30# gain on top of that weight that was so close to goal. So, we all struggle and I have found that if I try harder to zero in on the lean meats and lowfat dairy and fruits and veggies and stay away from those addicting sweets and high carb chips and all those yummy things that keep calling my name, that I actually start losing weight again. Ya, I do!! I can eat popcorn, dry cereal, pasta, potatoes, rice, chips and candy and desserts and the list goes on and on and that's how I became a rather chubby Dough Boy, girl!! I know that I could talk on and on and I'll quit here, because I already feel that you know it all anyway! I just have to keep repeating this over and over in my mind, the things that are healthy for me and the things that aren't. It's a transforming forever! Thanks for your 2 comments on my page. Aren't we so thankful to SP that helps us think straight! We'll get it, we will!!
Hugs, Karen

Thank you for the nice comment on my photo of BDA.

Staying on track is a mind game at times. There are times (like today) where the weather was not in my favor and I didn't feel like going out. But thankfully I have a couple of dogs who insist on going for walks. So I pushed my 'laziness' aside and am happy that I went.

Taking it one step at a time like you're doing is a great way to go.
keep it up!
