I don't mind FALLING for FITNESS...as long as I can still SPARKle while I sweat :)
My issues with being overweight started when I was around 8 years old. I never learned what portion control was or how to alleviate stress with something other than food. Inspired by Dr. Oz and with the help of the Good Lord I have lost 40 pounds on my own. It has been an interesting journey so far (to say the least!), but I feel a little bit healthier and stronger every day :) (2/2011): I reached one of my goals...I am now off of my blood pressure meds! Woo hoo :) ...

It has been an interesting journey so far (to say the least!), but I feel a little bit healthier and stronger every day :) (2/2011): I reached one of my goals...I am now off of my blood pressure meds! Woo hoo :) (5/2011): My cholesterol dropped 100 points! Yes, I am on medication, but a low dosage. My doctor was so happy with my amazing progress :) (6/4/2011): I just decided that I am going to start the "Couch to 5K" program on Monday. I am excited, but nervous. Here's to running my 1st 5K in October!!! (10/1/2011): I ran my 1st 5K ! I was so excited that I signed up for my 1st half marathon! What was I thinking??? (10/8/2011): Ran in my 2nd 5K! I'm loving this :) (2/26/2012): I completed my 1st half marathon!!! I reached my goal of 16 min. miles, which brought me to the finish line at 3:30! (3/23/2012): I decided this morning that today was the day to get back on track by allowing the positive voice within me to be the loudest and strongest voice I hear! (4/7/2012): I walked my fastest time in a 5K - 47:32! I averaged 14:57 per mile! (10/20/12): I started my next challenge called Falling For Fitness (FFF). I am excited to be a part of such a caring group of ladies! Thank you Wave Runners! You're the best :) (11/10/12): I completed my 2nd half-marathon! Although I did not come in at my goal time, I did finish the race and I received my medallion! It was my first nighttime race; I learned a lot from my mistakes, which will carry me through to my next race in February 2013 :) (11/17/12): My husband took me to a golf course for my 1st time ever! We played 18 holes in the wind and the cold, but I did it!

My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to lose 90 pounds (total). I just want to feel healthy and look healthy...and to be an inspiration to others :)
My Program:
I try to walk or walk/run every day for 30 minutes (if I'm not terribly exhausted!). I feel that I am doing much better with my eating habits thanks to the nutritional tracker. Dr. Oz reccommends that you stop eating at 8pm...not easy to do sometimes, but well worth the effort!!!
Other Information:
Likes: reading, dancing, walking, riding my bike, scrapbooking, Disney movies, the Dr. Oz show, enjoying life! Loves: my husband, my step-sons, my grandson, my "fur-daughters", my family & friends, my faith! Dislikes: disrespectful people, those who keep their blinkers on forever, people who do not understand that being addicted to food is a real thing!
