My battle with my weight has been on-going since I was about 10 years old when I seemed to hit puberty and ballooned out all at once. By the time I finished up the 8th grade I was determined that my weight would not be the continued reason for other girls to pick on me.

So over the summer I dropped 30lbs and started high school fairly thin, however I did this by not eating much at all and drinking nothing but diet coke. That planned no matter how horrible it was for me worked until I graduated high school and joined the military. When I graduated Basic Training I was about 145 lb and happy with that weight.

By 19, though, I had gained 60 lbs with the pregnancy of my first daughter. I thought no worries I will lose it when I have her. Boy was I wrong. I only lost about 20 lbs before I was pregnant again 2 years later with my second daughter. From 2005-2007 I struggled but finally got my weight down to 150 I was thrilled. However over the course of March 2007- November 2007 I gained 60 lbs with no explaination besides going off my birth control medication while my ex-husband and I tried for a 3rd baby.

In December of 2007 I was finally diagnosed with PCOS and looking at it I can see how many symptoms I had been experiencing including the weight problems since puberty. I went back on birth control and finally lost some weight to take me back down to 175. Then 2011 I got divorced, lost my grandmother I was extremely close to, moved cross country with my child, met the love of my life, and experienced a miscarriage. For 4 years I have gained and lost the same 20 lbs over and over again.

I lost my father recently to a heart attack he was 53. His mother died at 43 due to heart problems as well. With all my health problems and this family history I am terrified that I will end up like them. But not if I can help it I am not!

My Goals:
September's Goal: Quit Smoking and lose 7 lbs.

Long term Goal: Lose 65 pounds and control my health concerns with diet and exercise instead of 5 daily medications!

My Program:
I am trying to be more thoughtful when I am picking my foods and making my plates; replaced my cigarettes with water for the oral stimulation and exercise to reduce stress; working toward being not just thinner but overall leading a healthy life!
