It's 2014 - Living Life with Courage!

Hi! I'm Kristen and I live in Southern California. I want to lose about 75 lbs. total which will get me to a healthy BMI. As of May 19, 2009 I am an official Done girl! So in classic Done Girl style I have the following to say:
I am DONE making excuses!
I am DONE telling myself I can't be a runner!
I am DONE deleting all my pictures from the camera before anyone has a chance to see them!
I am DONE calling myself a Fat Cow!
I am DONE allowing my past to decide who I am today!
I am DONE telling myself I don't have time for exercise!
I am DONE not having collarbones because they are covered in fat!
I am DONE not having armpits!
I am DONE thinking my feet are the only cute part of my body!
I am DONE shopping in the fat section!
I am DONE being the fat friend!
In short, I am DONE, DONE, DONE!!! I AM DONE BEING THE FAT GIRL!!!
Wow - I was actually selected as Done Girl of the Day for 7/31/09!! What an honor!!!!!! I am so humbled to think that I, little ol' me, is inspiring others! I love the DONE GIRLS! They just ROCK!!

The mascot I have chosen for my journey is the butterfly because just like a butterfly I can transform into something even more beautiful than I am now. I'm not a dowdy little caterpillar, but I haven't reached my full butterfly potential just yet either...both inside and out! So as Heimlich would say in his German accent in It's a Bugs Life - "I'm a beautiful butterfly"!

"The battle is never lost until you quit" I'm sure this quote has been said by a million people in a million different variations but I couldn't say for sure. So in this incarnation I attribute it to my sister, Heather, who said it in a blog comment and it just HIT me! Such wise words...

Update on 5/13/09 - I am working through my motivational images and quote and selected the following quote by Marilyn von Savant: "Being defeated is often temporary, giving up makes it permanent." I selected this quote because I refuse to give up! It can and may take me longer to achieve my goals than what I think, but I am not going to give in to them or discouragement. So many times before I have lost some weight and gone back to my wicked ways; but the reason I am here on SparkPeople today is because I never gave up! I may have been temporarily defeated, but I came back like a bad penny! I don't want this to be a temporary change, hence a DIET; this is a lifestyle change! I want being active and healthy to be so much a part of me that I don't even think twice about it.

4EVERADONEGIRL is rather proud of myself...set up my annual physical, have my annual women's visit on Friday and my eye appointment! Getting stuff done!!

Run 3x a week for at least 30 minutes

My name is Kristen, I am happily married to my best friend for over 25 years. I have four kids ranging in age from 19-25 and two grandbabies aged 3 and 2. I have to make time for working out, but it's WORTH IT!
