I'm almost 42 and a mom to 5. I homeschool my oldest who is now 17 and has autism. My youngest is 3 and wonderful. Who am I kidding, my kids are all great! And so is my husband.

I live in Canada in the western prairies where we get the hottest of the hot and the coldest of the cold in terms of weather. This makes me whine a lot. But I still enjoy the outdoors. It's getting so hard to enjoy the outdoors though with all these extra pounds I've got hanging around...

I've been trying to lose weight for quite a few years now. Let's hope that it finally happens!

Taking things one step at a time...

FITNESS GOALS:
[ ] Consistently walk 20 minutes twice a day for 2 weeks
[ ] Consistently walk 25 minutes twice a day for 2 weeks
[ ] Consistently walk 30 minutes twice a day for a month
[ ] Start running!

NUTRITION GOALS:
Clean eating is the plan. If I don't know what's in it, I won't eat eat! This means eating mostly whole foods and foods with fewer than 5 ingredients - and all ingredients must be easily recognizable. That's the goal for 80% of the time - the other 20% is reserved for celebrations and social outings. We have a lot of birthdays, etc to celebrate around here!

I recognize that I need to eat a lot less than I have been. AND I need to eat a lot more vegetables! I have tried to just start tracking and keeping to a calorie limit so many times and it just doesn't stick. So, I am going to regain control of my eating step-by-step.

[ ] Drink at least 8 cups water a day
[ ] Fast for 12 hours a day - no food after 7pm and none before 7 am
[ ] Pre-plan two "clean" snacks that includes some fruits/veggies, and follow through on eating what I've planned, for a week.
[ ] Pre-plan a "clean" and balanced supper and follow through on eating what I've planned for a week. Tracking for snacks and supper.
[ ] Pre-plan a "clean" and balanced lunch and follow through on eating what I've planned for a week. Tracking for snacks, supper and lunch.
[ ] Pre-plan "clean" and balanced breakfast and follow through on eating what I've planned for a week. Tracking throughout the day.
[ ] At this point, I'm eating well am used to following a plan. So the next goal is to limit all servings to what's on plan. Not quite sure how I'll approach this goal just yet. Stay tuned.

OTHER GOALS:
[ ] Weigh in daily.
[ ] Take measurements once a week.
[ ] Write a blog post daily
