I have lived in Newton Iowa almost all my life. I have been married to the same man for 40 years and we have two great kids and three awsome grandkids.

Other Information:
dave ramsey has been a big influence on me the past year. he makes so much sense when it comes to finances, i just wish i could have know about him,when i was much younger. his programs should be taught in all schools. from k-12

I will be 60 in July and I am trying to loose 50 pounds. 23 down you can do it. Do it for your self. Walk around your car 2 times before you get in it, Walk to your neighbors house and back before you go in side. Start small Make people wonder what you are doing. If they ask tell them you are going to loose weight. It is easier to do when you say it out loud, and you have to show someone else that you can do it. emoticon

emoticon If you can't sneak in a walk on your lunch hour, maybe try to get in one of the 10 minute videos here on SparkPeople? Do you work in downtown Des Moines? When it is nice I like to walk to the library or down to the river. SparkPeople has a page where you can map out your walk anywhere in DM and it tells you how far it is......I'm not a stalker, really I'm not, I just want to let you know about some of the things I stumbled on that I found helpful.....

welcome to SparkPeople, 411LINDYLOU. I saw your post on the Iowa Team. I live in Des Moines. I recommend you start with small goals, like a 20 minute walk over lunchhour. Also, I've found the food tracker to be the one thing I cannot do without. I plan my food every day. Take your time to look around the site...there is just a ton of information.
