Living a Healthier Life

I'm Lauren, 25, and haven't been active on SparkPeople in over a year but am looking to get back on that wagon. I stopped logging on to SparkPeople as much when I became unhappy at my job. I didn't recognize it at first, but now, looking back, I realize I let a lot of things I used to value go when I was unhappy at work. I have since left my job, my profession and my home city and picked up and moved to Charlotte, NC to go back to school for my new passion: Nursing.

I didn't recognize it at first, but now, looking back, I realize I let a lot of things I used to value go when I was unhappy at work. I have since left my job, my profession and my home city and picked up and moved to Charlotte, NC to go back to school for my new passion: Nursing.

When I joined SparkPeople, and was much happier, I said "My journey isn't so much about losing pounds on a scale but more about losing inches to my body and even more important than that is to create healthy lifestyle habits that will last me a lifetime". I really like that, and I want to readopt it. I thought I was rejoining SparkPeople to lose the pounds I put on while working (10-15) but it's about so much more than that. I want to create healthy habits now, while I have more free time, so that when I do start working again after graduation it will be like second nature to me and I won't have to consciously think about eating healthy and working out consistently as much. Although, everyone can use a reminder!

March 17, 2013, St. Patrick's Day, is my first day. Again.

-Drink a minimum of 80 oz water daily
-Eat 5 freggies daily
-STAY POSITIVE!!

Personal Information:
I picked up my whole life and moved to a new city I had never been to before to start fresh. I'm going back to school to be a nurse and loving every minute of it!

How's the workout clothes shopping going? I've decided that once I hit my normal BMI range (couple more pounds), I'm buying myself a new lululemon outfit!

Keep going strong with your running - you're doing great! The scale is not always a runner's friend - muscle mass - but nothing is sexier than a runner's legs :)
