Let's try this again!!

I'm 48 years old. I've been married to a wonderful man for 28years. We have 4 children. One daughter, married and three sons, one married, and two teenagers still at home. My daughter has had one son, which makes me a grandma!!! and is due for twins in February. I'd love to see my goal of 38#'s off by first of summer!!

Good for you, and thanks for my "Woo Hoo"! what is the Wendie Plan?
I thought of you while I was watch the Biggest Loser from the 10/20 show, one team was sent home ... they struggled, one guy even gained a pound! Most lost between 4 and 6 pounds, and one guy who played it smart still lost 14 pounds!

Hi there. We are on the Indiana team together. Glad to see you took the plunge! Advice on this site includes...use the food tracker as you will be surprised at how many calories you typically eat each day and wonder how you ever lost weight...at least I did.

Use the fitness tracker to log all the activities you do.

Get involved with "a couple" great teams. Some people get involved in many teams and become overwhelmed with all the posts and challenges. Find the teams that work for you and cut back to just those few.

Find a buddy (either on SP or elsewhere) to keep you accountible.

Baby steps...don't set goals that are so huge or so far away that it's impossible to accomplish. Decide to track your water each day, or walk 15 minutes each day or each veggies. Something small and work on that one goal. Once you have that down...add something else. SP is a way of life, not a diet. It will teach you how to live more healthy in order to maintain when you meet your weight goal.

Welcome back to SP! Just thought I would drop by and share that I just joined a couple of teams for mindful eating and weight loss. I found after this thyroid set back I needed to have a bit of structure that comes with starting over.

Hi Heather,
I had surgery a few years ago and would lay on the couch and watch Biggest Loser....I've not seen it in quite a while though. It was a motivational show, but I found it unrealistic. I suppose we'd all do well if we were stuck on a farm and had to work out 6 to 8 hours a day....They did do a segment on there when i was watching it where they sent them all home for a week and they had to try to stay on their routines. They all did ok, but many if not most of them said that in the "real" world they just couldn't keep the same routine as they could on the show....so, for those of us with jobs, families, etc..we have to make it work in OUR routine...that's my first goal is to set up my "routine"....hopefully I'll have something to tell you about that later this week :-) I look forward to sharing my weight loss journey with you!! emoticon
