Well lets time back to 2002 cause that is when things snow balled shall we say.
I broke up from a bad relationship (we have all had those). Decided it was time to change a few things, was invited by a friend to move to Australia to try it out and crash with them. I was biggish anyway but started packing on the kilo's and was seriously trying to do anything to stop it, eating right, dietician, walking, swimming, gym, with in 6 months I had gained 15 kgs (33lbs).
Drastic times call for "Mummy".

My mum flew over from New Zealand and we booked into the doctors to discuss this matter seriously. After several tests and feeling like a pin cushion I was diagnosed with PCOS with Insulin resistance. I was sent to a specialist and put on Metaformin. Over the next 6 months with the specialist (and drugs) help I managed to reduced my weight back 11 kgs.

Australia was a great place and I enjoyed a lot about my time there, but missed my good friends and family being down the road :) and was also returning home to New Zealand for a partner, this was yet again a truely bad decision. I came home with 6 months supply of drugs and after losing another 5 kgs, I was sure I had everything under control and life was sweet :)
Unfortunately it dosen't work like that and once the drugs ran out the weight came creeping back. NZ does not view PCOS as the Australian do and the doctor would not consider giving me the drugs. So I was chunking up again nicely, about this time (1 1/2 years on) my partner whom we owned a house and pets etc was sleeping with his ex behind my back and we seperated.

I let myself downfall and took this very bad, I stopped caring about a lot of things and my pup, family and best friends were all that made me smile.

So here I am 93 kgs and starting again......

What a journey you have had! While I can't relate to all of your experiences, I can relate to different aspects and results of them whether it be changing countries, medication, men, food choices, moods, etc...I have been there. You will get to your happy place and you have the right attitude. It's not about perfection...it's about progress. YOU ARE GONNA DO GREAT THINGS....You already have accomplished so much! Do something nice for yourself today! You deserve it!
Hugs and warm fuzzies,
Patty

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Looks like you've made some wonderful progress toward your goals. You know, we already have a gal from NZ on the virtual walkers team - so we have her walking toward the US, and someone from the US walking to NZ! It would be great to have you with us, whenever you're ready. :-)
