I made bad choices for a very long time. Eating right didn't matter to me, i smoke and have a large amount of stress in my life. All those things worked together to give me 2 heart attacks in less than 6 months. Ya have to start someplace an I belive its never too late to learn and improve your life.

My Goals:
My goals are pretty simple really....lead and enjoy a happy heallthy life. I would like to be about 150lbs. I would like to stop smoking. I would like to go back an finnish college an get a better job.

My Program:
I don't have a program yet...not even really sure where to begin to make one. Im not sitting still though. I've started walking 3 0r 4 times a week. I am watching what I eat alot more closely. Just eating better and walking so far has brought me down from 204 to 176 which i am proud of.

Personal Information:
My name is Deran and I live in Sumter County Florida. I am a land surveyor by trade and a bee keeper at home. I am a big outdoors kinda guy an like to flintknapp, fish from my kayak, go to the mountians (travel anyplace), primitive skills and love to learn anything about anything (knowledge is power)

Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time. A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.

1. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.

2. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.

The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Spark friends are here for support, motivation and encouragement. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle! Again, welcome to the SP family!
