Hi there,
My name is Kathryn...My screen name says it best for me. I want to be Fit Kat not Fat Kat. So here I am making some positive changes.

I am a shorty, and I have always had to fight being "fluffy". When I was younger and buckled down, I could drop pounds easily enough. Sadly, Not any more.

My weight crept up after my husband passed and I just didn't stop it. Which was dumb on my part because I lose weight much more slowly now that I'm in my 60's.

I am here to access the nutrition page and the exercise page. Keeping track of what I eat and how much I move makes me aware of what I am doing so I can make better decisions.

Update 1/1/17
I am 225 today

I backslide through the holidays and started the year at 225.
My Bad! So, here we are again and I am off to a new start. Sliding back into some routine is a challenge but I can do it!

Update 9/29/16 - I made it to Onederland!
I am 199 today!!

Update 2/18/16 - I retired!
I am 222 today

Rebooted weight loss and exercise program again.
I did well on Sparkpeople back in 2012 with a 48 lb loss. I went from my all time high of 251 down to 203. I just couldn't seem to make onederland. Lord knows I tried! Then I took a part time job October 2012 and spent the next 3 1/2 years sitting behind a desk. Sadly, I gained back most of the weight.

In December 2014, a hospitalization for a-fib woke me up. I weighed in at 246, so I started being a little more aware of my diet and manage to drop 20 lbs by the time I retired in February 2016.

So, here I am again and I have decided to start the change in my new circumstances with healthier choices and a whole lot less of me in the future.

My Program:
Track what I eat and stay within caloric guidelines.
Drink plenty of water.
Get off my butt and get my 10,000 steps a day.

Personal Information:
I have one beautiful 30-something daughter and one 12 year old precious granddaughter. I was widowed in 2005....it took several years but I finally moved on. I now have another sweet man in my life. We share alot of the same interests.

I feel it is now time to make some positive changes that will enable me to lead a healthy and active lifestyle for the rest of my life.

Other Information:
After 25 years, I retired from the brokerage business in 2012. I took about 8 months off and then got a little part time job. Now; after my 3 1/2 year part time stint as the "thank you lady" at the local humane society. I am once again retired. Lets see how long I last this time!
