CHOOSING Health is to Take the High Road~(read on)

ANKYLOSING SPONDYLITIS: That is the diagnosis given me when I was 28 years old! Was told by an Orthopedist that I would be crippled and in a wheel chair permanently in my forties and be disabled. I refused to accept that 'dooms day' sentence ..... After defying the crippling effects this brings, with my spine completely fused , I went through unbelievable pain and still have stiffness but ..... many years later, I continue working in health care full time, have centered my life around fitness and exercise and beat all odds!~A rheumatologist who treated me remarked, " whatever you are doing keep it up" ...(swimming and lots of walking) plus most of all, I am a believer.... And my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ has brought me through much peril into a place of victory and fulfillment..

My Goals:
I chose a fulfilling career in Nursing. I currently work in a large Orthopedic & Sports Medicine clinic. I like to be a good 'role model' of fitness. I strive for the best health I can possibly achieve and enjoy.



My Program:
I've always loved fitness and living an active life. I like Swimming, walking, and cross-training Variety keeps it fun and interesting. I love to make fresh smoothies and green drinks daily.




Personal Information:
I am married quite happily and we live in Eugene, Oregon (University city) ...... Home of the Ducks.
MY INTERESTS: Avid photographer/ created my personal photo gallery~Love decorating especially with the beauty of nature.

I love writing as well and am a Graduate of the Intsitute of Children's Literature in Reading, Connecticut.
I LIVE to make others smile, but if I make them laugh, it is even better!

MY IDOL: I loved Mother Teresa and her selfless love for the poorest of the poor and relentless giving of her life for the well being of others.

    1. Play with kids.
    Even if they are not your own, just kid around kids while they are just being kids.
    2. Give someone a compliment.
    Not a fake one, but take the time to see something that someone else is doing well.
    3. Sing in your car.
    And sing as loud as you can. Have you ever noticed how hard it is to frown while you are singing?
    4. Watch a movie.
    You might like it, and maybe you'll laugh, and maybe you'll cry.
    5. Bake your favorite kind of cookies.
    Then eat some.
    6. Count your blessings.
    I mean it. Start a list of all the things you are thankful for.
    Write until you can’t write anymore. Staple it to the wall.
    7. Watch people.
    Go find a crowded public area, sit down and watch. Allow yourself to wonder what he ate for breakfast, or what her name is, or where he bought that shirt.
    8. Do something for someone you love.
    Do the dishes for your wife, take your niece out for ice cream,
    take your mom to Starbucks for a coffee.
    9. Laugh
    It'll make you feel good.
    10. Think of the most encouraging person you know and call them.
    But don’t complain. Refrain from telling them how bad your day is
    and focus on making their day better.
    11. Write a letter.
    A good old-fashioned paper and ink letter. Bonus: write it to someone who has impacted your life and thank them and let them know how much you appreciate their role/impact in your life.
    12. Make new friends.
    One of them may be in your life forever.
