I'm 51 years old and married to a wonderful man for 24 years. We have one son who is 22.

I have alot of support from the both of them. I want to get to a healthy weight. I don't want the problems my mother had with diabetes. It runs in the family. My mother didn't get it because of being over weight. But me on the other hand have a very big weight problem. I can use all the support I can get.

It's been awhile since I've up dated my sparkpage. I'm now 112.6 pounds ...

It's been awhile since I've up dated my sparkpage. I'm now 112.6 pounds lighter. My doctor is so proud of me. I still have a ways to go but I'm closer than what I was when I first stared Sparkpeople. I exercise every day. Sometimes I take Sunday off or just take a easy walk. Even when I went out of town for 5 days I exercised in the exercise room they had where we were staying. Now a year ago I would not have done that. I would have used the excuse that I was on vacation so I didn't need to exercise. My husband and I went to Dunkin Donuts combine icecream place and he had a large sunday with all the fixing. All I had was a medium coffee. I didn't want the icecream. Before I would have been disappointed in myself if I would have ordered it or felt deprived if I didn't. This time I did it because I chose not to have a sunday not because I couldn't have one. I am on my way and nothing is going to stop me.

I've been laid up for the last 2 months. Had my ankle operated on Oct 29. Had an infection that made my foot double in size. Actually put on 12 lbs of fluid. Just now able to get around some. Hopefully things will look better next year.
