My Goals:
My goals are to change my eating habits, exercise more and show my family that its easy to live a healthy lifestyle!

My Program:
 I have basically overhauled my pantry! I am also getting into a daily exercise program and I have cut out soda a and junk from my family's diet! I am slowly switching to a "whole food" diet.

Personal Information:
My name is Janel. I am 37 years old. I have a bachelor's degreee in Healthcare Administration. I plan to go to graduate school to get a master's degree in healthcare technology. I really love the outdoors, cooking and my family!

Other Information:
 I love to read! I can't wait to read the articles on this site! Also, I am a real "people person"! I can't wait to meet some of the "Sparkies"! I really do look forward to chatting with all of you!

What are you doing to treat yourself this weekend? You deserve a bit of R&R so I hope you take sometime to relax with family or friends. How about a pedicure to reward your feet for all those wonderful steps you have been taking all week?

If you decide to dine out, remember all is not lost. If you do decide to dine out, one great way to cut your bill (and portion) in half is to split the entrée. Most restaurants have generously sized portions, so splitting it is easy. You won't feel that regretful dread of, "I can't believe I ate the whole thing," and you can share your meal with your sweetie or best friend. I often ask for a to-go container or bring a plastic container from home. As soon as the entrée arrives, I cut everything in half placing one half in the container. Then I have lunch for the next day. So don't feel deprived by skipping a few special occasions . . . just go with a strategy of how to live healthy everyday . . . even on the weekends.

I found the following on the Kashi.com web site and wanted to pass it on to you. I know I found it useful to reflect on my goals and plan for the next week.

"Are you committed to whole living, but occasionally find your devotion flagging? Not to worry: Living up to your ideals takes practice – and, sometimes, even more than that. If your daily habits are sliding away from your goals, today challenge yourself to living yours best life by trying one of the following tactics:"

"Write down specific daily goals for a whole week – Keep them small and manageable and rebuild, moment by moment.

Reward yourself each day you meet those goals – It’s okay to indulge or relax your standards once in a while, but if you earn it first, you’ll feel better.

Freshen your tool box – Communicating with like-minded people and staying up to date on trends in healthy living will revitalize you." (Hence I am leaving this comment on your page . . . since we are "like-minded" in our goal for a healthy lifestyle.)

emoticon emoticon emoticon Job hanging in there there . . . I believe I detect some downward movement of your ticker!

I just wanted to drop by and see how you were doing this month . . . . Sorry I have been quiet the first half of July . . . my mother was in the hospital and I needed to be there for her. After she was released, I took her to my nieces wedding. The next week just flew by so fast. I did try to stay in touch but it was difficult without having a reliable Internet connection. It is nice to be back in Utah again so that I can stick to my SP program and support my SP friends.

I hope that July finds you making progress towards your goals. I am making slow progress but it is progress. I will be happy with a loss even if it is one and two pounds at a time.
