Getting refocused. Realizing that the heart of the problem is my food addiction and looking for ways to overcome that.


UPDATE 12/5/10: Doing the 5% Challenge this month.

Assignment #1 - On your Spark Page write up your Winter 5% Challenge Commitment.

How much and how often will you exercise? I will do my PT in the pool a minimum of 3x a week.

What diet will you follow? I will follow the old WW core foods plan.

How will you support your team? I will log in and read the boards at least 3x a week.

UPDATE 6/10/2010: There have been ups and downs since September. I finished the Nike Women's Half Marathon in October. Walked it. Made the decision to go for the Top of Utah Marathon on 9/18/2010 which IS my actual 40th bday. In the meantime I have discovered some major issues with my left hip which is making training rather unconventional. I have also completed the 18 mile "Little Red Riding Hood" on my bike this month. Finally, I am trying to adapt to the new reality of being a single mom.

UPDATE 9/20/2009: Just had another birthday and we are into the final countdown to age 40. I would like to be in the best shape of my life before that date. I have my ducks in a row, and now I just need to keep putting one foot in front of the other!

UPDATE 7/12/2009: It's the first day of the rest of my life.

UPDATE 4/30/2009: Still tired and somewhat sore from surgery, but back to work and generally in good spirits. Allowed to begin exercising after 5/5. Not sure with the fatigue that I will, but at least I know I can. Also, I joined WW last Saturday.

UPDATE 3/22/2009: I am having a hysterectomy and bladder repair on Tuesday. Also, found out last week that I have a stress fracture in my heel. No vigorous activity for 6 weeks, although I will be able to do some very light walking. I am out of work for three weeks minimum and plan on using this time to get recharged and aligned with my goals.

Update 3/7/2009: Taking a break for a week or so while waiting to hear from doctor and get treatment under way. Inbox me if you want details.

Update 10/25/2008: I WALKED A HALF MARATHON!! It took me nearly 4.5 hours, but I did it. :)

My Goals:
**Shop at a "regular" store! This was reinforced for me as I was looking through both the Terry and Champion catalogs. At 5'11" and with shoulders like a linebacker I would just like to know that I can order an XL and have it fit!

**Complete the Top of Utah Marathon ON my 40th birthday 918/2010.

**Complete a "century" (100 mile bike event)
