Leveling up my life

Welcome to my page. I am back to finish what I started!
Spark people has been wonderful for me.
When I use the tools on this site, I get results. When I don't, I jump back up in weight quickly and easily. I'm annoyed that I have the body type (Endo) that will ALWAYS require me to eat clean and stay active.

About me:
I'm engaged to a great guy who I can't imagine life without. He is my biggest support and encourages me when I need it.
He also can eat whatever he wants, and doesn't gain weight. Boooo to him..haha

I'm a native of Las Vegas, a bit of a nerd and my current and immediate goal is to lose the 50 lbs I gained after a total knee replacement in 2013.

Before knee surgery, I worked very hard to lose 100lbs, over a long period of time. To gain 50 of it back took no time at all. Lesson learned. I don't have the luxury of slacking off.

I love lifting weights and strength training, I study and practice different techniques nearly every day.
Last year, I started studying with the American Council on Exercise. I will complete my certification in 2015. That is a very important goal for me.

I love MMA style fighting and boxing. They are the only sports I watch. I have been lucky enough to get to see live events from time to time. There is nothing like it in person! The energy, the crowd, I love it! I collect fight memorabilia and autographed photos of the athletes. The discipline they show, inspires me. They really know all about focus and determination. Something I can always be reminded of.

I was an addicted video gamer. I played online MMORPG every spare moment of every day and night. I absolutely loved it. I couldn't seem to find a healthy balance, so I stopped playing. This time, I will use me as the character, in my own game of life. I will set challenges and quests for myself to complete. As I complete these challenges and quests, I will reward myself with things that will help me continue on this journey of health and fitness. I wish I had thought of this, but this idea of leveling up my own life came from a website called nerd fitness. The guy who started it and Chris Downie of Sparkpeople, are geniuses in my book!

I really can't wait to reach my goal weight! When I reach it, I will be booking a trip to Ireland and Scotland as they are places I have always wanted to visit. The best reward I can think of for my hard work.

My Program:
My nutrition program is simple. Eat whole, natural un-processed foods. I prefer, and my body responds positively to a lower carb, protein based diet. I feel the most "normal" when eating this way. Its a challenge for me to choose nutrition over convenience at times, but I am trying.

I also enjoy quiet time for myself, meditation, postive thoughts and affirmations and my willingness to continue learning how to be a better human being.
