Hi, I'm Sheri. I'm more complicated than you realize.

Imagine being sick and in pain nearly every time you eat. Imagine feeling like you have the flu every day for years. Imagine having a migraine every day for as many as 20 years. Imagine waiting most of your life for doctors to figure out some diagnoses, then having most treatments fail. Now imagine how important it is for me to live the best life I can through all of this.

My medical conditions include:
Gastroparesis, Ehlers Danlos, Orthostatic Intolerance, Complex & Atypical ...

My medical conditions include:
Gastroparesis, Ehlers Danlos, Orthostatic Intolerance, Complex & Atypical Migraine, Status Migranosus, Fibromyalgia, Mitochondrial Disorder, Chilblains, Reactive Hypoglycemia, GERD, and Eosinophilic Esophagitis.

If you want to know about my conditions or how they affect my life, PLEASE ASK. I have no problem spreading awareness and doing my best to help others learn to live with these conditions as best they can. The symptoms cause severe disruptions to my life, so I've had to learn to think outside of the box to do what I must do whenever I can. I enjoy supporting others on their journeys. I've never been overweight, but I definitely understand great challenges and overwhelming odds so I do my best to give others ideas about how to make the changes they need to make to reach their goals.

If I can help you on your journey, especially if you have a medical condition I have, please let me know. Supporting others helps me feel productive and relevant.

My Goals:
* I want to live my life as best I can, circumventing challenges and proving that I am still able to do some things.

* I will continue to work alongside my doctors to figure out ways to minimize symptoms and complications of my conditions.

* In early 2013 I want to self-publish a fundraiser book. At some point I want to finish a novel I've been working on for years and have it published nationally.

* By April 2013 I want to take a trip to Covington, GA - to take a Vampire Diaries set tour. Any other TVD fans out there?

My Program:
* I am continuing to find information about my conditions and doing what I can to make things better.

* I am working on being positive, even when surrounded by negatives.

* I am supporting others whenever I can to help me feel worthwhile.

Personal Information:
* Hello, my name is Sheri.

* I'm young enough to be trouble, but old enough to know better. (early 30s)

* I grew up in small town WI, but now live in the Twin Cities metro of MN.

* I'm disabled and unable to work, as dealing with my conditions, treatments, and doctor appointments has become like a full time job.

* I have a cat named Tane (short for Albertane). He's my family.

Other Information:
* I love music, but what I like is not predictable - I have a wide range, but I won't listen to just anything. Most of the music I like is from bands and musicians I know personally, or have met through someone I know.

* I enjoy several tv shows, including: Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, Arrow, Criminal Minds, NCIS:LA, and the Ellen DeGeneres Show.

* I didn't like hockey until I moved to MN - now I love watching the Wild.

* I enjoy reading books, though it's become harder to concentrate enough. Still, I spend a lot of time in waiting rooms so I do read to exercise my brain.

* My SN comes from the following lyric: "what was it you said, you'd keep me in one piece, one state of denial, what you didn't get inside me was one thing, one place in my mind, mine" - Circles in the Ground ~ Skywynd

Thank you for the comment on my blog. I do try to turn the "what ifs" into positive ones but it doesn't always work. Thank you for the suggestions. I will just have to keep working on this. Today was much better though.

Hope things are starting to look up for you. I know you have had a tough time lately. Here's to keeping fingers crossed that things improve, even just a little at a time. emoticon

Thank you for your advice on my blog. I think your thoughts are right on target.
I've always had lower blood pressure than most people have; my top number usually ranges from 90 to 110. That alone doesn't make me light headed, but it probably makes the anemia and chemo side effects a little worse. So far today, I haven't had any rapid heartbeat episodes like I had last week.

Thank you for you comment on my blog! Buddy's coat is a little bit on the soft side, but it has a bit of courseness to it. His ears are very soft though! And his "Mom" Mary, gives him regular baths, and that makes his fur feel nice too, and he always smells so nice!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog and your comments. The more I learn about what is done to our foods to make them more "appealing, appetizing, portable, uniform, productive, bigger, better," etc... it concerns me.

My neighbor raises a dozen or so hens for eggs and meat. I asked him about it, especially about the processing of the meat. I was surprised, well honestly, shocked when he told me that he does it himself. I do enjoy eating meat and animal products, but I think I would probably become a vegetarian before I would be able to butcher a chicken (or any animal), especially one that I had raised from a chick.

But what my neighbor told me sticks with me. He said that it is very difficult for him to kill the animal so that he can eat it. He believes that to be much more appropriate than the "easy" and nearly mindless process of picking food up at the grocery store.

He said that beside the benefit to his family of eating meat that they know where it came from, what it was feed, and that it was humanely raised and processed, the greater benefit is that they now have a much greater respect for all their food. They don't overeat, they don't waste food, they understand both the sacrifice and blessing of the natural food chain.

Back to my apples... yep, lots of healthy and tasty recipes. And how simple and delicious just to cut one up for a snack (silly me, still checking for those worms, lol!)

Y'all are wonderful for following me and popping up so often for commentary. I just wanted to say that.
In response to your comment, I tend to do a good job of pampering myself, but I don't always make sure that I'm conscious and actively paying attention to the fact that I'm rewarding myself for some specific behavior. It's a great idea though, and I'll have to try and implement it. :)
