a new baby, new goals

I have been married for nearly 7 years and I have been a mom for over 5 years to my now 13 and 15 year old boys. YIKES!!! (Yes I am WAY too young for that!)

I have been struggling with my weight since becoming a parent. I hit 165 during my first semester of graduate school. I hit a low of 139 summer of 2010. I gave birth to my son joshua july 2012. I really want to get back in the 130s & will start working towards that goal 6 weeks post partum.

Lol I finally made it the way the packaging told me to! I added a little extra water since it turned out al dente the first time. I love making it though! Such a perfect side dish and snack!

Yeah I'm still terrified of messing it up again! My partner and I were watching The Newlywed Show and he mentioned it as the only thing I have ever cooked that he never wants to eat again. Ouch! Are rice cookers any good for brown rice do you think?

So you mentioned that you are going to make brown rice. I tried making some once and it came out the texture of oatmeal. I would love some suggestions!

Down to 145 is still awesome! You really struggled to get below that 150 mark. It is just great to be that much thinner. Keep it up, I know how easy it is to slide back into old habits. And it is so much easier to gain weight than lose it!

The Air Force is ok...I can't really estimate how my daily life is going to be because I'm still in training and I won't get into a routine for like 2 years. I'm looking forward to actually starting my training - I'm basically in limbo until I complete a couple different small trainings...then I get to start my real training.

However, at OTS the forced exercise & food intake was great! I didn't realize how heavy I had gotten until I actually lost the weight. I love being thin again...I'd still like to lose about 10 lbs (I keep fluctuating between 130 & 135) and I'm worried about gaining it all back. I do NOT eat well ;( not even a little right. As soon as I came home and got back to life with my husband I was right back to the soda (which I had stopped drinking completely!) and the fruit roll-ups (I LOVE eating those!). I'm horrible. But the only good thing is that I'm forced to exercise three days a week. And now I know that before my idea of exercise was not good exercise. I can actually run now :)

My first month at OTS sucked because their definition of fit was nowhere near what I expected...I pretty much got my butt kicked into shape and it sucked! I made it through though and I'm a much more fit person because of it. I have another training here on the 18th that should kick my butt again :) More daily exercise that is forced, LOL. Nothing like being told to run at a certain pace for 30 - 40 minutes and then doing strength :) There is no, I'm tired lets walk today :) HEHE...

Anyway, I should get back to work. :)
Have a great day!
