A FRESH NEW START

A FRESH NEW START.......Please Lord Jesus, help me to lose weight and feel better than I have in a LONG time. Starting out with a determination to eat healthy, watch my serving sizes and really watch my sugar intake. I also am going to try to eat ONLY when I am hungry. I also am going to try to start out today by drinking at least 4 glasses of water today building up to 8 glasses a day. Today is July 16, 2011.

My goals consist of:
1. feeling better
2. getting my weight under control
3. taking some of the pressure off my knees
4. keep my blood pressure low & keep it where I'm only taking one pill every other day.
5. helping others to feel better and reach their goals

7. get back in my skinny clothes & shoes
8. showing others I can do this for myself as well as my family
9. living healthier to serve God better
10. keeping sugared foods and fats in check.

My Program:
 I am first cutting my daily calorie intake. Also I am drinking at least 8 full glasses of water a day and trying to not drink a lot of caffeine. Also I am trying to cut my fats way down.

Personal Information:
I live in the midwest, my name is Janet, I have been married over 44 years, I have 2 children and am the grandmother of 7. I love to scrapbook, I love to keep up with my friends and family either on the internet or by phone. I like to trace family history and I love Jesus with all my heart and looking forward to making Heaven my final home someday.

Other Information:
 I am impressed with people who have overcome obstacles in their lives, who don't complain about their circumstances and who reach out to others. I also LOVE the elderly. I have many friends and some are in their upper 90s. Seniors can teach you so much. They are also so much fun to be around if they enjoy living. Most of my 90+ year old friends are more fun to be with than people my own age. They seem to teach me something wonderful and new each time I am around them. One in particular is Bert. She teaches an exercise class and she loves to Line Dance. She is such a joy to be around. HATS OFF TO THE ELDERLY.

Okay Janet, I started logging and you quit! What happened? I've found that if I eat more than 1000. calories a day, I don't lose any weight. I know when I was young, I went on a low calorie diet and the doctor said 1500 maintained one's weight, 1200 one would lose slowly, and 1000 one could lose a pound or two a week. For me that's been the case now; if I eat more than a thousand a day, I can't lose weight. But, I don't work out or do much of anything to burn calories. emoticon I've been checking yours and Mary's food and I can't see anything. emoticon I was hoping we would all fit into a bikini one of these days. emoticon

Well, I have started logging again, thanks to your letter of encouragement. I know it's hard to log every single day but even when we can't log, we still know how to eat. It does keep us on our toes to log.

Janet, thanks for adding me to your friend's list. I'm honored. We have some things in common. First, I love the Lord Jesus Christ and am happy that He chose me to be His child. Second, I love to scrapbook. Third, I'm love taking pictures even though I'm not very good at it.

I also want to thank you for the kind words you left on my page. I'm glad something I said "sparked" you. I'm very proud of you for beginning to log in your food again. I don't know what I would do without that nutritional tracker.

Janet, I have lost a couple of pounds, but the logging is very hard for me. It takes up a lot of time, so I have not been logging. I still don't think my computer is as fast as some, so it takes time that I am not willing to give to it. I do think it is a good program, and if you will be committed to keeping up the food diary (and have the time), I am sure it works for many people! I think keeping track on a piece of paper in the kitchen is helping me just as much.
