Hi, welcome to my Spark page! This journey has taken me on a variety of roads the past 7 years, but I would not want to miss a minute of it! On July 27, 2009, I was honored to be selected as a Sparkpeople Motivator!! THANKS of gratitude to all of my Spark friends who nominated and voted for me as a Sparkpeople Motivator!! I hope you will enjoy reading this journal of my weight loss journey. It is a life style change for me. Life is what you make it. This weight loss journey will help me achieve my goal of living a happy and healthy life. I have increased my fitness level which has given me more energy and motivation to continue this struggle with my weight. I wish each of you much success on your journey as well! We can do this!

Words of Wisdom for Weight Loss...

*Make yourself a priority. As a busy, working wife and mother you deserve to be healthy and you are worth it!

*I set myself up for success by keeping my workout clothes by my bed and walking the first thing in the morning. I wear a pedometer and strive to aim for 10,000 steps daily.

*Try to set weight loss goals in small increments.

*Surround yourself with supportive people.

*Try to distinguish between stomach hunger and emotional/stress hunger. Each time you reach for food, ask yourself whether you're actually hungry or if you are eating due to stress, boredom, etc.

*Portion control matters! Be aware and take time to record your nutrition intake.

*Exercise is a great stress reliever!

*Almost any recipe or food can be prepared more healthfully. Try switching to low-fat or nonfat ingredients and use spices to enhance flavors.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

* It's a new, permanent lifestyle!
* Don't avoid the scale.
* Make small changes and goals.
* If you have time to bite it, you have time to write it.
* Have a list of reasons you want to lose weight. Be very specific.
* Move it to lose it!

Extra thought: Every pound that is lost takes four pounds of pressure off of the joints.

GREAT RECIPE FOR 2016!

* Take a 10 - 30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile.
It is the ultimate anti-depressant.

* Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Talk to God about what is going on in your life.

* When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, "My purpose is to_____today. I am thankful for ____."

* Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.

* Drink tea and plenty of water. Eat more fruits and vegetables.

* Try to make at least three people smile each day.

* Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.

* Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.

* Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

* Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

* Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

* You are not so important that you have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

* Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.

* Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

* No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

* Frame every so called disaster with these words: "In five years, will this really matter?"

* Forgive everyone for everything.

* What other people think of you in unimportant. Truth is, they're probably not thinking of you at all.

* GOD heals everything -- but you have to ask Him first.

* However good or bad a situation is, it will change. Change is the ONLY constant in the universe.

* Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch!

* Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

* Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements: "I am thankful for _____. Today, I accomplished ____."

* Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.

* When you are feeling down, start listing your many blessings. You'll be smiling before you know it!

    You do the things you used to be against,
    you date the people you thought you never would,
    and you befriend the people you used to hate.
    You'll learn what its like to have your heart broken.

    There will be times when your life seems so absolutely horrible
