My Goals:
My goals are to live a balanced life. I would like to reach my personal goal weight of 150.

My Program:
I currently write my food down each day and give it to a sponsor in my 12 step program. I do some type of exercise each day for at least 1 hour. Whether it's walking, lifting weights or washing the car, as long as it's something outside my regular day.

Personal Information:
Married for 25 years. I have two grown children and one grandchild a year old. I've been in a 12 step group for compulsive overeaters for over 8 years and have lost 80 pounds and kept it off until last year with the addition of new medications. I am back on track now and am working really hard to lose that weight and get down to goal.

Hi Tessa, I hope this note finds you well! My computer has been down the last couple of days so I couldn't check in with you. I'm going on vacation so I won't be able to check in with you for a while. I hope you have a wonderful start to September. I will be thinking and praying for you. Remember to keep smiling and continue to make the right choices for yourself because you are worth it!
Your sisiter in Christ, Lorin

Tessa, Welcome to Sparkpeople I think you will find it to be such a blessing as I have. I burst into tears of Joy when I read the comment you left for me on my blog. Praise the Lord. And Thank you.

You have my support as long as I can. This pancreatic and liver cancer is known to be very aggressive. Whatever His Will is is when I go home. Until then I will be setting up and decorating my house again. It's all packed up right now 'cause I was hoping to be moved by now. Anyway, with all the nurse visits, spiritual advisor and social worker visits that I will be getting I want to use this time while I feel good enough to hammer holes in the walls. (lol) I'm not sure how long that will be since they started me on morphine today due to the pain increasing. I feel a little off right now but I am sure that will change for the better soon.

Yes, our Lord does love you and will provide you with what you need. You need Him. It took me a while off the path myself to come to the realization that I was lost, lonely and so empty inside. Then I just turned my life over to the Lord so his wishes for me would come to pass. Every since I did that my heart has been full and every day has been a blessing, even these days are a blessing. You are a blessing. PTL

As far as your journey you are at the right place for information, support, friendships and encouragement. Just knowing there is such support and loving people here for me helps so much. I didn't have a lot of people in my life until now so I have always turned to my fellow sparkpeople to share my up and downs with. They really have helped me through the tough times and rejoiced with me through the good time. You will also find your heart a little more full with the gifts of friendship, support and love you will find here. There are so many faithful people here.

I am so glad you were able to share the last days with your so young sister. Today my nurse asked me if there is anyone who might be able to share my last days with. Right now I had to say no, but I don't know what the Lord has planned for me. Bless you for being there for her.

I've added you as a friend and if you ever want to chat just let me know. As you can tell I'm a wordy gal. I started out my journey at 292 so I know what a challenge it is. I as most of us do use food as comfort and don't move around to work it off. With the support here it does help keep one on track. You are in my prayers too. Congratulations on making new goals.

May the Lords loving arms always hold you tight.

Love Lorin

Hi, when it comes to yoga, I am mostly doing DVDs right now. I like Rodney Yee and Denise Austen the best, due to their personalities. Denise Austen is definitely a lot more like a regular aerobics instructor because that's what she does. Rodney Yee is all around fitness and spiritual and mind.

For upper body you can get tapes by either of them. The one that springs to mind is Rodney Yee strength. Ashtanga Yoga will give you a lot of aerobic stamina, doing the poses hard and fast. In Iyenger you hold the poses longer and it gives more muscle building.
