Starry Eyed Sue at Christmas
Victory is Mine - 5K Sept. 26, 2009
Susan with Lulu Roman from Hee Haw
My name is Susan and I live in Payette, Idaho I retired in May 2008 and have been working on getting healthy since then. I'm an Air Force Brat so I have wanderlust and plan to travel. I need to be able to walk further and faster. Looking for support on SparkPeople.com to help with my quest. My doctor told me about SP in February 2009 and I really got motivated in March. Since then, I've lost 51 pounds and am still motivated. Spark People.com has been the secret. There is something for everyone at SP! Would love to hear from all of you out there!
When you've eaten too much and you can't write it down,
And you feel like the biggest failure in town.
When you want to give up just because you gave in,
And forget all about being healthy and thin.
So what! You went over your points a bit,
It's your next move that counts...So don't you quit!
It's a moment of truth, it's an attitude change.
It's learning the skills to get back in your range.
It's telling yourself, "You've done great up till now.
You can take on this challenge and beat it somehow."
It's part of your journey toward reaching your goal.
You're still gonna make it, just stay in control.
To stumble and fall is not a disgrace
If you summon the will to get back in the race.
But, often the strugglers, when losing their grip,
Just throw in the towel and continue to slip.
And learn too late when the damage is done,
That the race wasn't over...they still could have won.
Lifestyle change can be awkward and slow,
But facing each challenge will help you grow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint in a cloud of doubt.
When you're pushing to the brink, just refuse to submit,
If you bite it, you write it...But DON'T YOU QUIT!

The bikini is not the prize. Loving yourself is.
Nothing feels as good as a compliment!
"There's nothing you've ever been successful at that you didn't work on EVERY day." Will Smith
"It's easy to say you're too tired, too stressed, too busy, too this or too that. Too bad! The only way you'll strip away the fat is to start by stripping away the excuses." -- Dr. Oz & Dr. Roizen- You on A Diet
Lesson: It won't always be easy. Lots of people want to lose weight, but most aren't willing to pay the price or make sacrifices to get there. You will not be successful with a half-hearted effort or by looking for shortcuts or the easy way out. DO THE WORK TO GET RESULTS!!
Our gain is our pain, but our health is our wealth.
Don't stuff your face. Face your stuff!
People may not remember what you did or what you said, but they will remember how you made them feel.
May those who love us, love us as we are. If not,
May God turn their hearts;
And if He doesn't turn their hearts, may He turn their ankles
So, we'll know them by their limping.
May the light always find you on a dreary day.
When you need to be home, may you find a way.
May you always have courage to take a chance.
And never find frogs in your underpants.
LAUGH EVERY DAY. IT MAY MAKE LIFE LONGER!

I'm a pragmatist and what will be, will be. IT IS WHAT IT IS.
But, this weight loss odyssey is within my control and I'm bound and determined to change the course of my history.
I have been married to Boyd for 44 years. We have an accomplished daughter and a successful son, and 5 exceptional grandchildren. Our dog, Domino (border collie), makes the empty nest tolerable. Our new CockerTzu, Mini Cooper, added August 2009, is a year old, soft and cuddly, and the first dog that has bonded with me instead of my DH. His name is Super Dooper "Cooper", not to be confused with Super Dooper Pooper.
These are my favorite sayings:
God does not give us what we can handle; God helps us handle what we are given.
