I'm 56 years old and have ask my doctors what to do about my weight, they tell me I have to find something that works for me, so far I haven't . The only person I really talk to about it is my daugther, I would like someone else about my age that is going through the same thing to talk to. I live in Tennessee
I love to can. but we didn't have a garden this year.,but I did make allot of blackberry jelly. I like to read, sew,and crafts.I love watching Design star.I have 4 grown kids and 6 grand kids. It has been almost a year ,since I joined sp. My weight loss has been slow, but the health improved greatly, until I loss my way. I wasn't all the way on the program, and my numbers went up. I focused to much on the slow weight lost, instead of health, Now I have change my focus to health first and weight second, after all if everything is balanced, the weight lost will come.
get my diabetes under control lose unwanted weight to do things I am unable to do to stay focused on my goals. help others
Anything else you would like to tell people. Could include things like your favorite books or movies, a quote, anything. When you feel like quitting. don't read blogs, write blogs everyone here is willing to help you no matter how big or small your problem is. Everyone is family here.

Mary, thank you for visiting my blog today and for sharing about your own experience with breast cancer - since we always say it is a family disease. Everyone is affected in some way. Hope your mother-in-law is doing well.
I am so blessed to have fallen into this "job." Each day I am reminded how tenuous life can be - and how plans we make can change on a dime. These families, and especially the women who have walked this path directly, bring so much to my life. What we do is small compared to what they give back to us. That said, I have to admit, each night I put my head onto the pillow, I smile that I have met people at their worst moments and at their best...and that I have had an opportunity to make a difference. I also pray that programs like ours spring up throughout the country...maybe even world...to give others the gifts I receive.
Good luck on your healthy lifestyle journey. For me, the biggest step has been to allow myself room to not be perfect...if I eat junk food (like yesterday), the next meal is a new opportunity to stick to my plan. Forgive yourself...then let it go. If you don't, that little slip up will derail you.
