Well, here we are, August of 2011. Good news? I've had a contract position at a fortune 500 company since April 1. My weight is at 164 (remember, I'm 5'9")- so I lost weight during all this. Bad news? None I guess, but it's such a strange world we live in now. I don't know if I can ever think about having a full time job with benefits again. You get paid a lot more as contract...and my boss is cool. Tells me to clock 8 hours when the department gets off early. But what a different world.

I'm saving $$$ everyday to improve this house. I've lived here 13 years (bought the house new), and have yet to replace the carpet. I love when the full-time-permanent people at work call in sick because the overtime I make is ridiculous! So, I'm saving and adjusting. My kids are doing outstanding. And I figure, if after all this, not only are we "still" happy, but "happier" than the worst thing I thought could happen (being laid off) may be the best thing that ever happened. I still drive a car over 15 years old, but I paid cash for it then, and it has proved itself worthy! Gotta love a Honda!

Looking forward to nine more pounds and an improving market in the USA. Cheers to all as you continue through your own personal journeys.
