December 2008:

I wish I was "FAT" again. I have been on this journey way too long. Okay, so I started this journey when my baby was 6 months old. I have lost and regained the same 30 lbs for over 3 years. I see that I have gained muscle tone, but I am still fat. I went to psychotherapy, I did weight watchers, I took a food allergen test, I joined Sparkpeople, and set these really high goals...BUTT NOW...I just want to be "fat" again...ya know when I was thinner, I thought I was "fat". If only I would actually reach those small goals, I would be PHAT again!

Motivator: My Mom.
I want to make it clear that I really love my mother. My mom is a very giving person, but she forgot to give to herself. I recently looked back at our family pictures and discovered that my body is doing the same thing as she did. My mom gained most of her weight AFTER she had all of her kids. She now has many many health problems that are a direct result of being obese.

This is what my mom chooses to live with:

Type 2 Diabetes
Fatty Liver
Kidney problems
Stomach problems
Joint problems
Sleeping disorders
Parkinson's disease (brought on by poor health)
High Blood Pressure
Mini-Strokes
Bladder/Bowel problems
Severe energy loss
Difficulty Traveling
Unable to help others/visit grandkids
Memory Loss (especially on bad diabetic days)
(The list really goes on and on, but these are a few)


MAJOR Motivators: My 5 sisters!
One day, my baby sister had me help her study for a test for her dietician coarses. I was shocked to see myself going down this road. I was also raised to believe that EVERYONE grows old with these problems.
Then I have these wonderful sisters!
Sister #1: Took control of her health, works out, & eats right
Sister #2: Runs marathons, watches her fat intake, & now lifts weights
Sister#3: Understand diabetes & eats right, exercises
Sister #4: Is a kick-butt weight lifter, eats right & proves to me it can be done!
Sister #5: Teaches me about health, runs, & is now a dietetics program graduate!

I have the best sisters in the world!

They ALL have shown me that we do not have to grow old fatly. I am still the largest of my sisters, but they have been paramount in shaping my mind into realizing that I CAN BE THIN...

Charting my progress:
2008 brought minimal actual weight loss but thanks to SP charts, I discovered that I did make progress!

Waist: 3.5 inches removed
Hips: 4.5 inches gone!
Neck: 1.75 inches less

Update CHANGES in 2009!
March Madness! I removed 6.25 inches this year!! Very :p

Personal Information:
Since joining SP, I have learned to acheive a greater ability to balance my life, which is why I am not always posting things...I am busy being my kids mom to 6 kidos, running a small business, working out, & going to school part-time. I love food, paper, hanging with friends, & loving my marriage!

I am always glad to "meet" new faces & I get a kick out of people watching. I have enjoyed getting to know many people from all walks of life here on the Spark, a journey that I would do over & over again.
