I am a grannie looking to loose a huge amount of weight to be able to move around better. I like to travel and find it difficult just to walk a distance. I want this to change. I live in a bushed area and find it is not easy to walk much. I love to cook, bake, make jams and gardening.

I live in the bushes with my hubby of 46 yrs in central Ontario. The winters are wicked here.
We plan on retiring soon..........

Hi Freda, I know what you mean about the cold winters. We live in Alaska and get some pretty cold weather here. I also live in the bush so there is no way of getting to a gymn out here! I sure wish there was tho. That would be an incentive to be able to go to a gymn to work out with others. So I do know where you are coming from. Keep up the good works. Your garden is beautiful.

Freda...You sure have a beautiful, lush looking garden...it doesn't look like there is a weed in it!! We only had strawberries this year, but will be planting tomatoes and peppers (at least) next year like we have in the past...it's so nice having fresh produce right in your backyard.

Freda, I saw your comment on the article, "Danger Drinks and health Alternatives." You asked if diet soda is a danger drink. I know from my microbiology class last quarter, that even diet soda is bad for your teeth, because of the phosphates in soda, that bacteria on your teeth thrive on. I also have heard my husband's grandma talk about the carbonation being bad for you as well. Also aspartame is in most diet sodas, and frankly with all the debate on whether or not it is safe, I think it's best to avoid it. Also as the article said, caffeine is bad for you. So if the diet soda has caffeine, you probably want to avoid that. I think it's okay to enjoy a soda, on a rare occasion. For me, I stopped drinking soda because it is harder to get my 8 glasses of water a day if I am drinking too many other types of drinks as well. I have a cup of coffee every morning though. I think after reading this article that I will try to stop drinking coffee. I am only down to 1 cup a day though, which is better than what I was drinking (2 or 3 cups). I hope to phase that out though. Maybe I will try green tea like the article suggests! I am not a big tea drinker but am starting to like it some.
