Spend so much time improving yourself that you have no time left to criticize others.

Be too big for worry and too noble for anger!

Almost a month into 2014.....I have not even started on my goals for the new year. I am playing catch-up since I have been down in my back. I know if I would lose this weight it definately help my back. Have to start slow this time so I do not injure it.

Goal #1 get back to the pool to exercise.
Goal #2 get off sugar
Goal #3 chart my foods to find out how off I am.


Half of 2012 is gone. My Goals for the year,,,, I haven't even thought of ...and it is the middle of June. The year came with me being the care giver to my Hubby who was hurt on the job....and had surgery on his shoulder. With hubby home, income reduced.....I found myself eating things I had not eatten for years. I gave up my Wellness Center Membership. I gained my weight back. I can not seem to get my energy back....to do anything physical. My goals for the year 2012 is to get back to my eating healthy habit...and get my energy back so I can start back to the Wellness Center.


2011 is here and I am not so sure that I am that perfect 10 I had hoped for a year ago....but I am lighter not heavier than I was then.

I am sure that Spark People is a huge part of that change. I still have a way to go but I am close to a personal goal. Thanks to all my Spark People who continue to give me support and information to move me forward in this journey to health and wellness.

January 2010
2009 came and went with a few surprises.....and changes.

So my goals for this year are on hold....as I take care of more important matters. I am still hoping for a perfect 10 in 2010.

January 2009
The hope I have is that, Sparks will provide the support for me to grow, body, soul and mind.
My body to grow stronger and more healthy; My soul to find support, comfort and friendship with kindred spirits; and my mind to learn about this computer, for one thing, and to learn about health, and people that are taking this journey with me.
It sounds so exciting as I sit here typing.... I will not be disappointed.

January 2009
It has been a year, almost.... The computer is not so scary any more or the thought of sharing on the message boards and blog pages.

I am going to get more serious about the weight loss and health issues this year. So I have set some specific goals for this New Year. And I have set some specific rewards for when I do reach a goal.

I have met a lot of great people on Spark People Pages..... I am excited about this New Year.

Update:

It has been three months since I started getting serious about this weight loss and it has been amazing what I have accomplished. No diet pills.... No gimmics....just good nutrition and moving consistently.....and doing a lot more moving than I had been doing...I am proud to say as of today March 20, 2009 I have lost down to 209.75.....from 227 ...9 weeks ago. I can say it has been a good experience. Exercise does not have to be hard and boring to work...I am having fun...making friends and best of all I am getting healthy.

My Goals:
My goals are to get more healthy. I would like to lose weight and keep my mind active.

2014 goals are:

To continue with the 8-8 (64) ounces of water a day.
6 fruits and veggies a day preferably fresh or frozen...something raw every meal.

6 or more fruits and vegetables daily.

1000 minutes a month fittness.
Lose 4 pounds a month.

Stay within the SP calorie range (low - middle) and the protein carb and fats.

Continue with Aqua Fit class.

Be faithful with the charting of nutrition and fitness.

Enjoy my team friends, and blog more.


My Program:
Follow the goals and rewards program I have set up for myself.

Watch foods closely that stress my thyroid.

Take vitamins faithfully.

Exercise faithfully.

Be kind enough to myself to say "No" to anyone who will hinder me from achieving my goals.

Be happy!!!

Personal Information:
I grew up in a very small town in WV. I have lived for over 20 years in Texas. I am the mother of two girls (one by marriage and one by birth) who are married and have their own families. I have 5 grand children, (all boys but one little girl).....last but not least I have a great husband I call Chubby Hubby.

Other Information:
I come from a family of 6 siblings and we are very close for living so far away from each other. Littlestsis is my sister. She joined SP just for me.
I have 4cats and a dog named Miss Kitty.(don't laugh...she came everytime we called the cats.) UPDATE: Miss Kitty had puppies and now we have Chance and Bear.

I still love the movie,"You've Got Mail". I watch the "Biggest Loser" faithfully with my sister on the phone 1000+ miles away.

I do not work outside my home. But I have done Demos in the grocery stores, I have cleaned homes, I have been a clerk in a office. I have worked in the dietary department of a hospital. I have done child care and was a foster and house parent years ago.

I like to cook and I love to decorate and keep house.

I love my gran kids and my family....although most of them live far and I don't see them often.

Well, I suppose that's why it seemed so familiar! lol I didn't really expect anybody to take me 100% seriously, but I think what I said about expectations struck a nerve with some people. After all, I think most of us get so frustrated at certain times that we want to just throw in the towel, or at least continue going through the motions without expecting anything miraculously happening.

Now, I'm glad that's all sorted!

:) Glad to know that I wasn't the impetus for your blog post!

The things you wrote about not having expectations seemed eerily similar to a recent blog post of mine. I thought you could be speaking about what I wrote, but I wasn't hurt or even bothered by it. Sometimes I will write what's going on in my head right at that moment, like a photograph of my thoughts. 5 minutes later my thoughts might change, but at the time of my writing, that's what was on my mind.

Even the whole idea about not having any expectations being key to weight loss, was totally tongue in cheek. Kind of like wishing I could stop time... I mean, if I could stop time, I would totally do it and perform all kinds of mischief, but I don't think I'll ever gain that power!
