Hi All, I am 47 years old and hoping to lose a lot of weight so that I can feel good about myself. I've tried different things but nothing seems to work. Especially since I always seem to give up after a while, I'm hoping that I can stick to this, since I have to account for all the calories I eat, I can see exactly what I'm eating. Hi All, I am 47 years old and hoping to lose a lot of weight so that I can feel good about myself. I've tried different things but nothing seems to work. Especially since I always seem to give up after a while, I'm hoping that I can stick to this, since I have to account for all the calories I eat, I can see exactly what I'm eating. I think that this interaction will keep me coming back.

Here is a little bit about me. I'm married to a wonderful supportive husband (together for 30 years) and two great boys. Very proud of my boys, they are both in good jobs and working still to climb the proverbial ladder.

I have been through a lot in my young life. I have survived a broken neck, a bad case of malaria, two hip replacements, and cancer. I was told that all that happens to me because God is just making me stronger. I say I'm strong enough now, please give me a break. . . . lol After having gone through that with my husband sticking close and giving me lots of support I know that I can do this. Together with God and my Sparkfriends, I know that I will be able to succeed and change my life for better health and happiness.

I think the greatest tool here is the nutrition calorie tracker. I get on after eating anything, this way I am more aware of everything I eat. When you see the calories going up, you don't want to over eat.

The best that I can say is be honest in your tracking, try to stay within your calorie area, eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies, drink at least 8 cups of water (more is better) and exercise everyday.
