I'm in my 50's and 5'8" tall. I've battled my weight since I was about 15 years old. My highest weight was 217 pounds and is now on its way down.

My initial target weight was 168. I achieved that but still had some obvious fat on my belly and kidney areas. If there is fat on the outside of you then your body couldn't put any more fat on the inside of you and continued on the exterior. So my goal is to loose the exterior fat. My new goal is 155.

From about November 2012 until the present I've been eating low carb but not the Ideal Protein products (well probably 2 per week rather than 3 per day when on the plan). My weight is steady and my type 2 diabetes is under control. My doctor was very happy with my HGA1C test that shows about a 3 month blood sugar average.

April 2013 - I'm now beginning my last 10 pound loss. I'm at about 165 lbs. I'm maintaining well and happy with what I'm eating, though it is different than before I started Ideal Protein and then low carb eating. I'll be happy if I do this in 10 weeks.

July 2013 - My weight is unchanged, still 10 pounds away, but diabetes is still under control and that is a big victory in addition to the rolls of fat being gone. Also I'm basically eating the quantities of food that I want to eat, that is not a struggle. I just have to choose low carb things to start with.

April 2016 - my weight is about the same as July 2013. So 3 years of maintanence. It is now 4 years of no diabetes medication and good blood sugar control. HURRAY!

    Thanks for the information you posted on my blog. It is very helpful. I wasn't expecting that big of a lost and was surprised by it. The 2# of fat loss fits in with the research I have done. I am a LCHF type of gal with a focus on Paleo because I like the eating real foods approach. The types of carbs I eat are veggies grown in my garden. I use organic garden methods. I stay away from starchy foods and can't remember the last time a grain past my lips. I'm doing the fast for healing not for weight loss as I have 30 years of yo yo dieting and a low set point to fix. But in all honesty I'll take the loss. I expect I may regain some of it after I refeed.
