James getting back to his younger weight

I'm in my early 50's and 5'8" tall. I've battled my weight since I was about 15 years old. My highest weight was 217 pounds and is now on its way down.

My initial target weight was 168. I achieved that but still had some obvious fat on my belly and kidney areas. If there is fat on the outside of you then your body couldn't put any more fat on the inside of you and continued on the exterior. So my goal is to loose the exterior fat. My new goal is 155.

From about November 2012 until the present I've been eating low carb but not the Ideal Protein products (well probably 2 per week rather than 3 per day when on the plan). My weight is steady and my type 2 diabetes is under control. My doctor was very happy with my HGA1C test that shows about a 3 month blood sugar average.

April 2013 - I'm now beginning my last 10 pound loss. I'm at about 165 lbs. I'm maintaining well and happy with what I'm eating, though it is different than before I started Ideal Protein and then low carb eating. I'll be happy if I do this in 10 weeks.

July 2013 - My weight is unchanged, still 10 pounds away, but diabetes is still under control and that is a big victory in addition to the rolls of fat being gone. Also I'm basically eating the quantities of food that I want to eat, that is not a struggle. I just have to choose low carb things to start with.

Thank you so much for your helpful advice! When I first got into ketosis I didn't do any working out at all, but then I got this insane energy burst and I just HAD to go do something

and go at it hard! lol

the keto breath was unexpected. I had been drinking detox water (cucumber, lemon, mint, lime), not to detox, but because I love the way it tastes, and last week I drank none. I'm going to try it again this week and see if anything changes!
