We must move Forward, Not backwards, Upwards, not forward and always twirling, twirling twirling...

Still here, still trying. Every time I try something different, I learn something new. At some point I will find what works for me.

I think I'm going to do Sugar Busters again.
I did it back in 2005 after I got off the Prednisone. I liked it bit at the time, whole grain was hard to find, now its everywhere. My family didn't like it. Now they do and they mostly feed themselves now.

I dropped over 35 pounds in a healthy way, still have not gained back that weight!

I do hope you have better luck, but I love my Vitamix. I know it's expensive, but I think it's worth it.

.... it is an amazing lifestyle, I love it!... MELTNSUE, a Spark friend, recommended it to me a couple of years ago, and I was very skeptical and resistant. She suggested that since I wasn't getting anywhere following the SAD what could be the harm, just give it a try... and I did.

I am a breast cancer survivor so I wanted to make sure that whatever lifestyle I decided to embark upon would really be beneficial to me; so I read all of the information from the links she provided and much more and decided that this was doable. I made an appointment to see my oncologist and my nutritionist to get blood work done (for comparisons) and to discuss my plan. The deciding factor, whether I would continue to follow the paleo/primal lifestyle, would be what my blood work looked like after the 2 - 3 month challenge:

This is what my starting stats were:

Weight: 168
Cholesterol: 187
LDL: 121 (my doctor wanted this to be less than 100)
Triglycerides were 50 so that was good

... so I started the lifestyle and in 2.5 months later here are the results:

Weight: 154
Cholesterol: 167
LDL: 107

... well, of course I was sold, and have been following it ever since. However, a have fallen off in a big way over the holidays when I followed Mark Sisson's 80/20 rule and I gained most of the weight back. I have lost over the past 2 years the same weight a couple times. So now I have gotten to the point where I am tired of this yo-yo dieting and I am really approaching this a "healing" journey. Focusing on, improving my blood markers, eliminating my sweet tooth and being consistent; hopefully along with those improvements I will start losing the weight again.

I am hooked on this lifestyle, I am however incorporating some "neolithic" foods in my diet as tolerated for more variety, I am also kind of following, as Robb Wolf suggested, the low carb Protein Power Lifestyle Plan by the Eades. I am following the "Hedonist" approach.

... so that's my story so far, I am still writing it.

Thanks again for the helping with the team. Enjoy your weekend.

Hello, Mark's Daily Apple? Yes, I signed up there last night. I'm waiting for his book to come in at the library so that I won't feel like such a goof, lol
