Been a total slacker on exercise so the weight is creeping up, clothes getting tighter. So back to walking, I've been forcing myself but I know it will start to get fun again. its just so difficult to get back on track, which is totally unfair when its so EASY to get off track!
I really want to get into bike riding, just not sure how well that will go with the disabilities, but I'm working on it!
Best app ever! Zombies, Run! is an iPhone app that is a huge motivator! Makes you want to get out there and move to complete your mission and build up Abel Township and survive the Zombie Apocalypse!

I Totally recommend reading:
The Spark: The 28-Day Breakthrough Plan for Losing Weight, Getting Fit, and Transforming Your Life By Chris Downie Follow the stages!
"You on a diet" by Michael F. Roizen & Mehmet C. Oz (Dr. Oz) is also a must. One of the BEST books I have ever read on explaining nutrition, how the body processes food, exercise, everything! I actually used the book on CD, which I put on my iPhone and listened to it while walking. It is really a fantastic book!
Every little tiny "better choice" you make during your day WILL add up.
This is the longest I've ever stuck with a weight loss plan. I don't know what to really call it because it's not a diet. "Diet" to me implies a certain way to eat for a time period, then you go back to your regular eating habits. I usually gave up after a few months because the way I was eating just did not fit with my lifestyle. With SP I learned how to make healthy eating habits fit my life style. I did this by reading the book and following the stages at my own pace.
I have learned that losing weight can not be a race. Some people might be able to restrict their diets for a year or so to lose the weight quickly, but I can't, or won't. So basically what I am doing is: Trying to eat correct portion sizes Staying within the calories, fat, carbs & protein that SP set for me.
My main exercise is walking with some slow jogging on and off.
I like the way I eat. I eat whatever I want sometimes I go over, sometimes I'm under, but over a weeks time my food balances out.
I've lost 40 pounds so far and have another 50 to go to get down to where I think I want to be. We will see how things are when I get there.
I'm moving pretty slow on weight loss but I'm losing. I can't "diet", can't live with food restrictions, I don't like it and know from past failures I won't continue losing if I live like that. I sound like a spoiled brat but I know me. As soon as I restrict myself, I sabotage myself.
I do eat healthy foods. We cook healthy, rarely eat out. It's taken me a good 12 years to get this way and a lot of research. The Spark People book gave me the tools to start modifying my behavior with portions & exercise. The Spark site helps me keep track and helps me stay motivated.
I wish these last 50 pounds would just melt off but I know I will need that time spent losing it to keep practicing my healthy habits so that WHEN I reach my goal weight I will be in a better position to stay at my goal weight!
My Goals:
My highest weight was: 280. My starting weight with SP was: 226 My goal weight: 140
My goals are to lose weight and have a healthy body! Some short term goals are to measure all my food for correct portion size.
I want my wedding rings to fit again!
My Program:
Only do things I will be willing and able to do for the rest of my life!
I am eating healthy calories, drinking lots of water and walking.

I had 2 strokes in 1999 when I was 32 caused by a condition called Central Nervous System Vasculitis. Yep, that IS the very same room. If you look on the walls, you can even see my oldest child's baby picture in the same place! (And the cookbooks on the "shelf")
YOU and I have SO much in common...book~A~holics being first and foremost. I've got enough books to start my own metro library. Came naturally since my mom was a photo~journalist and worked in the Library of Congress for so many years.
I grew up cutting my teeth on books. I'd love to start an online books sales biz too...but...I know the work that goes into it...boy do I ever.
And since our little consignment gallery is only two years old I'm putting lots and LOTS of effort into building that.
Between my jewelry biz and the farmer's markets I truly wish I could just clone myself!
Seriously...I do!
Lets keep up with each other more this year...I'll be cheering you on my dear sparkling friend...you can bet on that!
Thank you and Happy 2013 to you! I busted out laughing when I saw the photo on your SparkPage. I'm not to be trusted in a bookstore with a credit card, either! lol
