I'm Becca. I'm 33 years old, the mother of two wonderful children and the wife to the most amazing man in the world.

About 4 years ago I lost 75 pounds with Spark People. I felt amazing, I looked great and was only 15 pounds away from my goal. I was working out every day, eating right and so proud of myself. Then I stopped. I gained all of the weight back. I am sure I am not the only person who has done this same exact thing, but it doesn't make it any less embarrassing and difficult.

Here I am again, starting as if that never happened, as if those feelings and days were only in my imagination. I am determined to feel that way again, to look at myself and be proud again. And this time I will maintain that way of living for the rest of my life!

My Goals:
I have many goals, most importantly my goal is to be a role model for my children. I want to be able to keep up with them and be the Mother they deserve!!

I want to be able to teach my children through example to cherish their bodies. I think it's difficult to help children once they have crossed the line into "overweight." You have to be careful not to cause low self-esteem and poor eating habits. At this point we, luckily, do not have children that are anywhere near an "overweight" category. But I would like them to become active in sports so they can continue this into their adult lives.

If my being overweight has helped my children see how difficult it is to get it off, and keeps them from having to go through this; then it was worth it.


My Program:
I am not following any type of "fad diets" I don't need a quick fix, I need to change my life. I simply watch my calories, I refuse to cut out the foods that I love, so I work them in to my daily calories. I had to find something I could stick to for the rest of my life and this is sticking. I work out 5 days a week swimming laps and also incorporate; yoga, walking, dancing, weight lifting and gardening. Who says exercise can't be fun??
