To GYMMOMOF3: I do not want do discourage anyone, however, I would not recommend attempting a figure competition unless you REALLY want to do one and are REALLY comitted... A lot of people in my life have commented on wanting to do one becuse they want their body to "look like that"...

However, the preperation for a competiton is not what I would call "healthy" by any stretch of the imagination, nor is it maintainable. For 12 weeks, I had to diet cutting out most of my carbs, cramming as much protein as I could into my diet, and cutting my overall calories (drastically by the end)... VERY strict. My body fat hit 14%, which is not a healthy place...

By the end I was tired, stressed, and completely drained. And now, one month later, I do not look like that. I gained some weight back, and some body fat, so I am not as defined.

Will I do another competition? Yes. But this is a sport I am comitted to now and understand the health risks involved, and the fact that I will not look like a figure competitor in my off seasons.

If you are REALLY interested in competing as a sport, send me a message. I did train myself ( I am a certified personal trainer with a BS in Physical Education concentrating in Exercise Physiology...), and I did make my own diet plan that worked for me.

    Good Luck!
