My Goals:
I want a sexier driver's license photo to replace my decade-old one, and to lose the "baby weight" before my eldest starts high school in 2014.

I may sound vain, but I'm actually not vain enough, and I think that, by being moreso, I will also be healthier. ;-)

My Program:
Regular walks and hikes, indoor biking, rowing and yoga.

Personal Information:
I'm a brainy bibliophile lucky to have married a Geek with great hair. I have two kids and three formerly stray cats, and every one of us has our own computer. Or litter box.

My husband and I love to cook and eat good food---in fact, we'd often prefer to cook at home, rather than eat out.

Other Information:
Check out my Film Buffs group!

I'm only five foot ten.

I'm here to get you started on Oprah! I have my own ... opinions ... but I question myself. I mean, what kind of person could have anything bad to say about our national treasure, our spiritual guide, or own Saint Oprah? Ya see, there it is: unholy snarkiness.
Maybe if she weren't at Starbuck's AND hanging with Deepak AND on every single cover of her own magazine. AND when she was on TV, she had her show, plus she had "backstage with Oprah" where we could witness more fabulousness. Maybe if she'd just buy me that week at La Costa, I'd be willing to be more generous-spirited about her.
And btw, I too have wanted to go to India for a long time. Do you know of Amma? She's in Kerala. Let's go there. Omm

OMG I'm so OLD. I only know what a "vine" is b/c I saw it on Nurse Jackie and the girls explained it to me (with heavy sighing and a great rolling of eyes). Bollywood? Bollywood and Vine??

Our renos are very basic - first off, JF fixed the deck that collapsed on one side during our annual BBQ. That wasn't really a reno, but definitely required his attention. He then replaced the drain pipe going from the sink to the main sewer pipe. It was rough going. We live in a cottage (winterized) and only have a crawl space under part of the house, so there he was, laying on his back under the house, cutting old steel pipe and replacing it with PVC. The old pipe was thick with decayed food and grease leaving only a space about the width of a finger for the water to pass through. No wonder my kitchen sink would take an hour to empty!
This weekend was spent putting up insulation on our ceiling. Only some of that task was completed and the rest will be done as the summer goes on. Another goal this summer is to tear out the ancient carpeting in the living room and front hall. Since the cat peed on it, it's really awful, especially when it gets humid outside. I've tried cleaning it a million times, but it just never stops stinking. :-P

I'm glad you liked Lunchbox. I want an Auntie, too! Wait, maybe I am one. I think it's just an old woman. Those boys called him "Uncle" on the train and let him sit down, and he wasn't happy, remember?
Also, did you catch the little note in the end credits? Those lunch guys are REAL! Like, they exist and they played themselves in the movie. That's insane.
Now I want some Indian food. Butter chicken. And tikka masala, not that I can remember what it is (I can't), but it's fun to say. Tikka masala emoticon
WAIT! One more movie: I forget how old your kids are, but if you have teenagers, you might consider seeing Edge of Tomorrow with them. My 22-y.o. daughter dragged me to this and I loved it! For what it is, mind you, which is the perfect summer action movie, minus horrible violence (there's violence, just not the make-you-sick kind) and plus a brain cell or two. She, the daughter, was really jazzed over the female lead, so I paid attention to her. Kick-ass!

I've been thinking for years to feed the cat what I eat...except I don't eat squirrel or chipmunk! LOL! But she enjoys canned tuna, salmon, white chicken meat, chicken liver...and I just changed cat foods from Costco brand (Kirkland) to Whiskas and WOW!! Does she ever love Whiskas. I had no idea about the cat foods until yesterday and this one says it provides "highest level of protein."
I'm glad you were just teasing about shaving your cat.
