Life under construction.

Crazy, but I missed close to a whole year on Spark. Ready to try it again and need to leave my old info here as a reminder. I am worth this. I want to do this for me. I now have 2 beautiful granddaughters. I am still having issues with my eyes and have lost vision in one. I have no control over that, but I hope to be able to take control over my weight. I've spent a lot of time reflecting on my life and the people in it. I am a stronger person for it and must continue to seek my peace. ...

I've spent a lot of time reflecting on my life and the people in it. I am a stronger person for it and must continue to seek my peace.

Another new year. Getting it together and getting back on track. Cut way down on my exercise after eye surgery. Ready to start it up again. One less excuse. Overall, I'm happy with my progress to date. 2013 brings renewed motivation! My plan is to track my food and exercise everyday. Cardio at least 30 minutes, 5 days a week. Strength training 2 days a week. I am also going to try to do a new exercise video each week.

I need to make a stronger effort to keep in touch with my Spark friends as well as personal friends. I also have to work hard to establish some sort of routine in my life. I will have to do that to reach my goals.

I have a beautiful granddaughter, Alexandria Nicole, who was born on 05/13/2011. All the more reason to be a stronger, healthier person! I have a lot of plans with this precious gift! See how beautiful she is?

I'm done with the excuses. I have COPD and use O2 24/7 and it is not easy at times, but the more I put into it, the better I'll feel and will continue to work as hard as I can.

Alice, No one runs a marathon the first day, start off doing 2 or 3 and move on, there are more exercise for the tummy in the fitness section...that is good for the body to do different things to keep the body guessing what you gonna do next...does that sound stupid??? i do a ab lounger but i only do it 3 days a week, modified pushups i do three days a week but not the same day as the ab lounger...but i ride the bike every day and i have come to love the ride, its like a release for me...i put my ear buds in and turn the tunes up and just get lost in my thoughts...so as long as you moving your body, your making progress toward your goal.......hope you have a great Weekend!!! emoticon

Hi Alice, well thanks for the kind words. She's had this diet book for awhile now and kept putting off jumping in with both feet, so my son and I both agreed to go all in with her..Not without some stipulations on my part...My dietician put my calorie count a lot higher than what this book says we are gonna do...so i told my wife the first time i am feeling weird or getting overly hungry i am off the diet and to McDonald...LOL. But so far today it hasn't been bad, you get two snacks one in the am and the other in the pm. and i can honestly say i am not hungry but we will see about 9pm when the kitchen gets shut down for the night...but i will see how it effects my exercise routine and if it effects that i am off of the diet...I will support her like i have for the last 27 years but being hungry is crazy.....have a good evening Alice emoticon
