I'm a 45-year-old homeschooling mom of 4, with degrees in psychology and mortuary science (funeral directing). I'm also a classically trained vocalist. I've been married to my husband, Cliff, for 24 years, and our kids are 6, 8, 10 and 13. I manage my type 2 diabetes with diet and exercise and I love hearing about others' healthy journeys!

My Goals:
I'm hoping to loose a little weight, but more importantly, I'm hoping to regain some of the energy and stamina I had when I was younger and more fit (read: five pregnancies ago - har!) I'm also hoping to model a healthy lifestyle for my family.

My Program:
I'm practicing Yoga daily and lifting weights three times a week.

The most important part of my Yoga routine -- and my absolute daily minimum I require of myself every day -- are Sun Salutations and the Five Tibetans. I love when I can do more than this, but at least this much I try to do every day.

I'm focusing on eating healthy whole-foods and limiting processed foods. I have recently started juicing as a way to incorporate even more raw, nutritious, plant-based foods into my diet.

Personal Information:
I'm Godchick70 on Facebook

Other Information:
I'm a Christian (Lutheran - ELCA) but I'm not a Bible-thumper. I have great respect for people of all religions and those of no religion.

And, as my username implies, I love Yoga. I have been practicing for about five years and there is always more to learn!

I'm also into reading, especially sci-fi and fantasy (why, yes, I AM a nerd) and I love cooking WHEN I don't have four little people orbiting around me.

With regard to the funeral business: yes, I have embalmed people; no I am not creepy. Yes, it can be a depressing profession at times, but it also is very rewarding. I believe that funerals are for the living, and as someone who has lost all of her family of origin but one, I have a special place in my heart for the bereaved. It is an honor for me to serve grieving families.
