I started losing weight in August of 2008 and since then I've lost about 13 pounds. The weight has been coming off slowly but surely; but I'm ready to kick start my diet to lose those last 10 pounds!

My name is Jess, I'm 19 years old, and I'm in Navy DEP currently waiting to be shipped off to boot camp. I can't wait to go and get my life started in the US Military! I'm going to a Mass Communications Specialist and I love to write and report so I know I picked a good job. I used to run cross country in high school but I quit after my sophomore year and I regret it everyday! I recently just got back into running and that's mostly why I've lost the weight I have. I like to run 10Ks but my ambition is to finish a marathon; I'm not sure when that will happen yet!

My Program:
Fitness:
I love to run so I do a lot of that! I run 7 days a week, anywhere from 3 to 10 miles. I also love swimming so if my legs are feeling too sore one day, I'll take a day off and swim instead. Tennis and football are two things I like to do with my friends too but they don't want to play half as often as I do!

Diet:
I try to keep my calorie around 1200/day. I eat a lot of fresh fruit and veggies; I try to stay away from the dried versions, and I try to cook for myself as often as possible.

Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog. I hope your training is going well. It sounds like you have been very dedicated, and believe it or not that's all it takes to run a marathon. Keep up the good work and I know you'll do great! Let me know how the 1/2 goes in January. My second marathon is in two weeks and I am so excited!!

Welcome to the road runners. I was checking out your goals...you sure have a lot of them...kinda looks like my list. hehehe Although I don't expect to ever run a 5 or 10k that fast..but I have complete two 1/2 marathon (2007) and a full marathon (Oct 2008). Good luck to you. gail
